yes, yes, they got it going fastish eventually... after a massive development effort. In stock form they are pathetic. A much much less developed STi will do 1.19 round Manfield.

Indeed... but it's apples with pears, you've realistically got 50% more power in a mildly tweaked STI and you've got AWD.

It's true they are different beasts... I just found it a little sad and very amusing, that the new "light weight" modern sports

car from Subaru was getting shat all over by 15 to 20 year old WRXs.

Would be such a different car to drive. I don't think they're comparable in any respect really. What does an STi cost new vs a BRZ?

And as for late 90s Japanese machinery; undoubtedly fast; the heyday in fact; fancy your chances, or the pedestrian's chances, in a crash. Naaaah. Fancy the fuel economy. Naaaah. Fancy staving off tinitus from long highway drives. Naaaah. Fancy feeling fit and well after a drive from Leigh to Luggate? Naaaah.

All true, and the BRZ has two cup holders... so that's twice as many as a WRX. Hands down win.
