Japan Yahoo Auctions

I'm currently looking for one wheel as I broke one of mine, there are currently none in stock in New Zealand but have found one on Yahoo Auctions in japan but I have never used it before, is it safe to use? Has anyone used it before? Just want to know how others have found it before I go spending my money

Get in touch with Fortyone, he does source some stuff through there, takes the risk out of it that way too.

I dont think you can registration in Japan yahoo, they need japan local address to verify, but you can use buyee.jp, what they do, is they help you to bid the item, and sent the item to you, but you have to pay buyee fee, local postage from buyer size -> buyee and international postage buyee->you. I have been using alot since 2 years ago, but you still have risk as you never know what will happen.

I ordered some 2nd hand lowering springs for my daily, expected arrival end of this month which would make it about 8 weeks from paying to receiving the goods.

Murphy's law though....after i ordered and paid for them I found the same springs, brand new, shipped via DHL for only $50 more than what i have paid and i would have got them within a week or two.

My opinion is that it's a great service he provides, but not the cheapest or fastest. You pretty much pay three fees, the auction fee, paypal fee and then i'm guessing Moonlights fee as well.

Another example is a used front Cusco strut brace i found on Yahoo....through Moonlight it was going to be $235 shipped once all the fees were added, i found brand new via another site for $245 shipped.

I know Up Garage ship worldwide and to NZ through a 3rd party site that is owned and run by them. Haven't bought anything yet but might do in the next month or so and see what its like.

They work via proxies anyway (I.e you'd pay twice, essentially for nothing as no guarantees will be given if you get a wrong item), just register with fromjapan or buyee and do it yourself.

So this turned up today. Lowering springs for my Toyota Crown. Ordered via Moonlight Racing on the 15th March!!

Next time i will do my own ordering from Up Garage, at least then I won't have to wait 12 odd weeks again!
