What does the BP5 SpecB have over the GT?

Just curious as to what uprated or different components the GTB has over the GT?

Does it have an extra Autotrans oil cooler?

Are the brakes any different?

Are the shocks actually different?

Is the overall handling different in the GTB? (spoke to a guy who had the 3litre NA and he was saying handling wasn't as good)

Depends which market you are comparing models from, and probably also whether facelift or not.

NZ new '03-'05 the main things would be Bilstein struts, 18" wheels, different front bumper, heated electronic leather seats, Macintosh stereo, alloy trailing arms.

Well to be selfish, thinking of my 2007 facelift gtb And was thinking more performance orientated wise

Facelift

GTB gets a STI-ish 6 speed manual where the GT has a 5 speed.

18" wheels vs 17" wheels

JDM both get bilsteins but I don't think they are the same ones.

SpecB bumpers are different

I think the engines are the same

Bilstein part numbers for facelift specB, GT and 3.0 are all the same from what I can see:

FR: 20310AG420 20310AG421 20310AG423

FL: 20310AG430 20310AG431 20310AG433

So they are.

I made that assumption based on the stance of the GT vs GTB, but that could just be down to the wheel size.

Fairly sure the engine is tuned differently for the 2.0l turbo too - GTB gets 280hp while the GT only gets 250 ish. Can anyone confirm?

Might be looking at the MT 2L turbo vs AT 2L turbo? MT is 280HP and AT is 260HP

I got these figures from a page I came across which I can;t find anymore but have a screenshot of below...

3.0R

3.0R SI-Cruise

184(250)/6600 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm

304(31.0)/4200 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm

2.0GT (AT)

2.0GT SI-Cruise

2.0GT spec.B(AT)

191(260)/6000 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm

343(35.0)/2000 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm

2.0GT (MT)

2.0G spec.B (MT)

206(280)/6400 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm

343(35.0)/2400 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm

2.0R spec.B (AT)

132(180)/6800 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm

196(20.0)/4400 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm

2.0R spec.B (MT)

140(190)/7100 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm

196(20.0)/4400 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm

2.0i

2.0i Casual edition

103(140)/5600 Max power (NET) kW(PS)/rpm

186(19.0)/4400 Max torque (NET) N.m(kg.m)/rpm

From this it looks like the extras the spec.B got were:

- Available in 6 speed MT (GT only 5 speed)

- 18" rims (GT 17")

- Rear torsen LSD (MT only)

- "exclusive" HID projector lamps?

- 6MT shift knob (of course)

- Sports pedals (aluminium incl footrest)

- spec.B exclusive sporty grill

- 5mm higher due to increased ground clearance (spec.B 160mm and GT 155mm)

- ~20kg heavier (spec.B 1500kg and GT 1480-1490kg)

- different gear ratio of course 5 vs 6 speed

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
