Turbo options for EJ205

Hey team,

Wanting to know what options I have for direct bolt on turbos for my Forry SG5 with a EJ205 engine. I've been told a VF30 and VF34 but there doesn't seem to be many of these around. Are they more common turbos around which I can bolt on before I look at getting a tune for more POOOOWWWAAA?

Anything vf if it bolts up same as a vf30. They will all fliw more than the 205 will handle. Vf22 23 24 28 29 30 34.. take your pick.

Any one in particular that you'd recommend if it was you buying it?

Just find one that has no play end to end or side to side. No preference. Vf22 23 24 28 29 are pretty much in order of age. Vf30 is journal and ex housings get hairlines crack. Vf34 are same age as vf30 but ball bearing and pretty much the best vf for a 2l sub. Pay thro the ring tho.

Could also grab a td05 for $50 or so

have it rebuilt with bigger wheels and cover ect for roughly $450

Boom new turbo that will outperform any single scroll vf turbo, and for a similar price to what a 2nd hand vf costs

Running a TD05 from an early WRX with a front cover that's been machined to be front facing on my EJ205.

Best to buy a big 16g cover and wheel and get it fitted while rebuilding.
