May i ask, why you bothered with a Ryco one at that price? As i posted above, the genuine one with holder is only $70 inc gst or so retail. Less if you can get trade.

One thing to watch with cabin filters is there are often 2 versions. A straight pollen/particle filter or a carbon version which purges odour as well. The latter being the more expensive and being easily distinguishable by the black colour of the paper.

Yup, and IIRC when i was looking around the activated carbon filter was $$$

I swear by carbon in my daily, without it in rush hour i was getting a headache on the way to work every day.

Because I clearly didn't do my research before purchasing haha

Few reasons actually; I work 8.30-5, so getting to a stealership to buy genuine parts isn't easy, I assumed genuine would be considerably more expensive, and its just a cabin filter so I'm not particularly fussy.

 

However, I do make the extra effort to buy genuine oil filters when doing an oil change.

 

I guess its just a convenience thing.

Hmmm, this is making me want a carbon filter as this is my daily and I'm sensitive to fumes.... I'm assuming the existing filter is black because it's old, rather than being a carbon filter!

 

In other news, vacuuming out the enclosure and the old filter has transformed my AC system....it's like I've turbo charged the heater! Used to need to turn it up to like 25 to feel warm air, now 20 blows hot, haha.

Genuine carbon version exists too, mucho pricier though. I ended up getting a BLITZ cabin filter, price wise was even slightly cheaper than getting a genuine filter from a stealership.

That charcoal filter is for B13, my understanding is that B12 and B13 cabin filters are the same.
