Advice on uppipe flexi

My uppipe flexi has blown. Any advice on the merits of replacing with one of these exhaust manifolds from Redline http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/other/auction-1240277436.htm or getting the flexi replaced? I like the idea of larger diameter uppipe but is it useful?

Seems like a larger uppipe would slow down your exhaust pre turbine?

Have heard bad things about that manifold and up-pipe, flexi pre turbo is never a good idea imo, up-pipe larger than 1.75in is just lowering the velocity, it wont be a restriction unless your running a larger turbo.

Replace with factory up pipe, them redline pipes are shyte

I have a factory uppipe you can have for nix Al. I haven't taken the heatshields off to inspect it for cracks or leaks. A lot of people are advocating not having a flexi though, so you may want to skip it.

Factories ok it doesnt have wire weave on the interior. Just restrictive and annoying if they break and leak.

Those manifolds and up pipes are rubbish, had 1 crack and leak at the collector. Brought a new one then the up pipe flex fell to bits and went through my turbo.

Pretty sure this is correct. Factory turbos, stick with factory diameter up pipe. If moving to bigger turbo/power then consider large diameter up pipe.

replace flexi with straight pipe, you won't regret it! Make sure to coat in thermal paint and heatwrap or retain the factory heat shields.

Just buy another factory one. As long as they have the factory mounting bits bracing the turbo they last pretty well. I have tried redline and also making one with an aftermarket flexi in and they still just died. Stock ones seem to last 1-2 years of racing for me before dying. Or if you never want to replace again, buy a brand new one from Partsouq?

Currently $230 shipped via DHL, takes 4-5 days to arrive. Otherwise if you don't mind waiting a couple weeks choose the cheaper shipping option which is about $200 all up
