Redline performance exhaust

Happy to be corrected, but I always thought that any restriction after the turbo had the potential to affect velocity of gasses which can reduce spool up time.

Boost is a measure of restriction. So in theory if you have a tiny exhaust yes you will make massive boost pressure with no flow which equates to a reduction in power. You want post turbo to flow at zero preferrably.

Yes, the exhust gasses will quickly expand after the tubo but will then hit the 'constriction' which will affect velocity before they expand again. I would expect that to have an effect on flow and therefore performance.

Granted  it may be minimal, but would sfill be there?

The wastegate flap on a VF is so small, being so close to the constriction it's really going to make virtually nil difference.

That said, unless I was forced to DIY it I would have got someone with a welder to notch that with a little bit of small-diameter stainless tube.

El_Chado, what do you reckon about the sound note/volume of this kit?

Cheers for the heads up about the fitment issue with the steering rack linkage!

Maybe that could be fixed using a STI steering rack linkage - or any one that does not have the rubber vibration dampening coupler..?

Sounds like dawg shite without the silencer and sounds stock with the silencer in. I'm going to replace the muffler with a Genome muffler when i can track one down.

If you have a forester then the steering linkage needs to be from a forester sti. Other sti linkages are slightly shorter. Im guessing since the fozzy has a factory body lift but I could be mistaken.

There is a genome muffler off of a legacy on trademe at the moment, might work with some modifications?

Im not sure what the longer tip would look like on a Forester.

What do you guys reckon about flipping the steering linkage around?

That would place the fat rubber coupler lower down, maybe far enough down to not interfere with the downpipe..

Just a though I had, no sure if would even work.. Thoughts?

Watched this interesting video the other day .. where they bash and squash the hell out of headers and dyno the results as they go .. maybe different with turbo but at one point it Made power

OKAAAY - So looks ADIKT posted this already .. probably why I saw it in the first place.. so mines a repost .. I'll let it stand :) ..

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
