B4 RSK Exhaust Help!

Recommended Posts

Hello, quickly want to ask and see what their Legacy owners done to their exhaust, has anyone done Resonator and mid cat delete? How is the car running and sounds after that? Any noticeable changes? My main goal is to get that nice rumble deep tone sound.. i have afternarket muffler but its not loud enough since I got all the factory cats and resonator, anything will help thanks

Single Turbo conversion, V7 UEL Exhaust Manifold.. ^_^

The twin turbos will never really have that iconic suby rumble because the exhaust manifold is an odd length, only time they actually sound nice is over 4000rmp when it goes parallel, then its more of an equal length sound. other than that they just sound very hollow imo.

But there are performance benefits to have, so there really is no drawback to de-cating and freeing up flow a little. Decreasing exhaust back pressure can cause boost spiking and what not so either get a tune if its Rev-D or find a good boost controller to manage boost. You don't want to run higher boost, but a good EBC will help bring boost on earlier and hold on longer, then you reap the benefits of the decat etc.

Edit: Other posts suggest it is a Rev-D. Add breathing mods and go for a tune. Hi flow panel filter + de-cat downpipes and midpipe. Straight through muffler and tune for NZ 95 or 98. Being an import it will be detonating like a mofo

I heard people say that messing with just the back exhausts cat and resonator you wouldnt need tune, only when you go upper where downpipes and stuff then you would need tune..

I already have a aftermarket muffler and it got that nice deep tone rumble when on idle, its just I want it a little more louder so I thought removing mid cat and res would do that.. I'll leave my intake stock too cuz people say if you mess with it you'll need tune..

overall Im not planing on tunning or modding the car too much.. for the most part keep it stock but make it a bit louder for some necks to brake

I had midpipe resonator replaced with a straight pipe, sounded pretty crap paired with a quality aftermarket muffler - raspy and unnecessary loud. Ended up finding a quality 3" mid pipe with a resonator, never been happier.

Yeah I seen lots of people say that resonator removes the raspiness sound.. Now Im thinking of keeping the res but deleting just the cat

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
