They're actually all much of a much where theyre blended to a certain oem approval which most are. It wouldnt be smart business to try to be too different as the market is set by standards and ultimately what the consumer buys. Everyone tries to meet both in the cheapest way possible.

As far as the additives go theyre all relatively similar as the finished product needs to meet said spec. As far as base oils go if its a synthetic you need to be sure youre comparing relative groups. A group 3 synthetic isnt within a bulls fart of a pao/ester based oil. Then some semi synthetics have f all group 3 and mainly group 2.

It's more about how the oil targets deposits and the contaminant holding capacity. You should use the oil spec and viscosity recommended for the engine by the manufacturer unless there is cause to use something else. Stick with a brand and it will save any settle in or oil consumption that can occur.

Wasn't planning to S*** all over OP's thread but hey.

So the idea is find one good brand/type and you like and stick to that I guess.

Im one of those people that usually just buy what grade of Oil I need on sale, not worrying about who makes it.

Will stop doing this and find something I will stick with.

Duly noted with the above responses. Since it's pretty much been on Motul oil changes for a year. No point switching as I haven't in my knowledge experienced any leakage or burning. So went down to my local store which stocked them and got their 5L option along with some genuine oil filter.

I bought the best-ish fitment Turbo beanie I could find close to where I was at. It covers pretty much the turbo exhaust housing but seems kinda big but still clears the IWG arm. I'll probably shoot over to Scarles to see if I can get a better fitment. I hope Redline Performance can refund if so :o  Seems like guys in US run these flat beanies instead of the Full wrap look beanies on this particular turbo.

Have done a quick test fit in-store but thought I'd do another at home. What do you guys think? Yay - Nay? I don't see any problems arising in the future with it. This is how it will pretty much sit without the strings hooked up.

Other alternative I'm looking at,

They seem kind of big though, won't hurt trying it out anyways.

Date is closing in :). Booked in to be picked up on Monday morning. Will be taking most of the parts off tomorrow and installing new parts on Saturday. Being the last minute guy I'am. Ordered all the parts needed and shipped literally using overnight shipping couple days ago.

I can finally fit the PW CAI I bought months ago...

All going to plan atm. Everything is pretty much off (Turbo bolts were stubborn as hell; thank god for CRC). My DP is on the ground but can't take it off as it's still connected on the rear side (Not plugged in). Was replaced with Bosch and only just found out that they hard wired it in so question is would a 22MM O2 Sensor socket work on this boy?

Also I've lost a bit of coolant so decided to just go for a coolant replacement while at it. I have a light-ish blue coolant I'm guessing this is the OEM coolant? I've read around being the coolant capacity 7L?

So final output.

High Boost 22psi:

247kW

902Nm

Low Boost 14psi;

201kW

773Nm

Not sure how to convert torque figures. Spools up around the 3500 mark and full boost around 4250RPM. Holds boost till redline; doesn't taper off. Restrictive components in my car - exhaust not being 3" and TMIC. I'd probably move onto aesthetics side of things now and buy another project car; thinking of a MK1 mx5 or a DC2R/CL7R.

Nice. Pity you didn't have a 3" TH exhaust.

Yeah, It is. I thought I was going to still achieve my goal of 260kW with a 2.5" exhaust but I guess not. Oh well. If I do get a 3" TB exhaust I know I'd be incline to get a FMIC as well and get a retune but that's going way above my initial budget; would rather invest into another project instead.

Wouldnt cost much for a retune with the larger exhaust...devils advocate and all.

Nah won't cost much since PBMS charge an hourly rate for tuning. I see myself spending $1.5-2K on TB exhaust, and another $2K on FMIC to make the retune worth while. $3.5-4K of cash would get a nice track hack to learn to race in. With this setup I can definitely see 270kW-280kW potential as much as I'd love to push that much a mate of mine changed my mind to stick with 260kW max so for the $$ being spent for 15kW is not worth while. I'm already 2K+ over my budget.

End thoughts though; your right in saying that power isn't everything. Drive home was amazing. Boost carries on like a train and performs similarly to a stock VF in regards to boost spool. A very nice subtle upgrade from a stock turbo.

I have the same Blouch turbo and am looking through Turbo Beanie options. What option did you end up going with for the best fitment?

I ended up with getting the Scarles carbon fibre one. Originally I opted for Redline Performance VF but it looked really bad and did not fully cover the turbo exhaust housing. With this beanie it made putting it on much harder due to size of turbo; got there in the end but a lot of frustration lol.

Rubs a little on the actuator gate lever but nothing that would tear the fabric to pieces.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
