GDB - Outdoor air temp sensor

Very minor issue, can't help but notice my dash 'out door temp' reading seems to be pretty far off at times. it's not that important but if it's an easy/cheap fix i'd be keen to sort it out on a lazy sunday. for example it may be about 10 degrees but when i jump in car it'll read about 19.

 

where is this sensor on gdb sti? anyone know the part number?

 

are there other callibration settings in ecu or something that i should know about?

tbh, just try giving it a clean bro.

1. They just aren't that accurate

2. They read from somewhere that gets heat soak to a degree, so if you drive the car a bit then park it then hop back in it will read slightly warm

 

They really don't mean sweet F/A, I just know that if it's reading about 3 or lower then there's a good chance of ice/slippery.

I think it is in front of the radiator down the bottom of the bumper somewhere.

 

Mine definitely gets heat soaked, however the reading is fairly reliable after the car has been moving for 5mins or so.

 

As boon said I just use it to keep an eye on when it may be icy and to complain that it is way too hot in the summer!

ahh thanks guys, sounds like i may as well ignore it as just a design flaw. case closed, another item ticked off the todo list - and i didn't have to do a a damn thing

mines usually pretty spot on. try moving it so its got clean airflow. normally just in front of the radiatior, small little black boxy thing.
