Weighted Gear Knobs

Hey all, anyone had any experience with weighted gear knobs?

Looking at something to replace my stock v7 sti one, just wondering if the added weight makes any difference in shifts.

Leaning towards the D1 Spec:

Also this Cusco one, I really like the clean look of it, althougth its not weighted:

Had a weighted Trust metal gear knob in my old car - was nice..... until it had been in the sun. Then it was like trying to hold satans knob

Can confirm. Have held satans knob in hand. It hurts.

Weirdness aside, best gearknob I've ever bought was my S204 one. It's pimp as hell, looks good, feels good and has a nice weight to it.

I alternated between that D1 Knob and a Cobb delrin knob in my old car. Both couldn't be more different, D1 is heavy as, Cobb feather light. lightweight knob you can feel every groove and notch in the box. Weighted less so, preferred the weighted knob for smashing gears through but the Cobb knob felt better, looked better and did not heat up in the sun.

I have that D1 knob in my auto Wago now actually haha, looks good on the auto shift stick with no booty

Wonder if the thread is the same as my auto... I want to try my hand on a new knob but I don't know if any fit xD

Id rather not pass mine around the boys for cheeky test fits, Most knobs come with multi thread insert adapters

as seen here

Don't forget, you'd need the entire kit, it's a little more expensive:

did u get urs from there too?

I spend too much on my car already xD

will sometime tho.

nah got mine locally from pbms think it came off another car that was being scrapped , you may find a better deal that way just make sure you get everything. you should do it, its one of the few mods that when done you don't have any regrets about because it's pretty easily worth every penny. coolfactor 10/10, functionality 10/10.. maybe a bit out of place in this thread with knob obsessed folk but i just love dat flap

Have you guys heard of Flossy? I have one on my car and it's awesome. From experience and memory it doesn't get hot, a very good feel + grip wise almost feels like a rubberized coating on top of the steel material used.  Reverse cut out, weighted and no plastic delrin.

Downside it's from America + It's expensive for a piece of metal but totally worth it imo.

I have similar to this but a genuine STI one...

It took a bit of getting used to as its not exactly smooth on its edges. There machined smooth but kind of have a hard edge on the top and around the sides but I dont think I would change it now.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
