Legacy 6 speed reverse lockout lever

@Andy_Mac - made a new thread, as to not thread jack that Forester thread.

 

Just checked my car - it does have a hollow shaft, where the lockout cable comes up.

Also looking at partsouq, my S401 has exactly the same shifter rod to a 2001 GDB V7 Impreza STI (Dad's old STI) - 35011. They used that rod up until the end of 07, when the GD chassis ended.

 

The Raceseng one says it's for a 04-17 STI (Handle and Base).

Being USDM, they only got the STI in 2004, which I believe is the V9? So still a GD chassis, and should be the same as what I have (no factory VIN available to confirm this).

 

So going off partsouq - I should have a Impreza STI shifter etc, and should be sweet with Raceseng's one?

 

I was gonna ask @mtbtimr if he would make me one up, for a price of course. Would happily pay a premium for one from him, over an internet bought one.

If you read further into their explanation they say it doesn’t work with the OEM short shifter due to the way the base piece attaches. Was looking into it a few weeks back as i’m gonna get one at some point. Mine is the same as yours with the hollow shaft which is the OEM short shifter design apparently. Which limits us to just the handle half as we can’t mount the base.

Ah. I got your idea of "hollow shaft wrong"

Mine is like the Impreza STI, with the 2 shafts welded together - as shown on Raceseng's website.

Don't have a photo of my shifter in my car - I'm at work.

But I know mine is like that, from when I did the bushings on the lever (35035A as above).

So I should be sweet with Raceseng's one. YAY!!

Yea probably should have been clearer differentiating them. Both are hollow but look very different when side by side. 

Seem’s you’re lucky then. 

I’m stuck using only the top half unless I go for a Cobb or Kartboy short shifter.

@Individualities Yep could make you one up - just let me know. 


Obviously it wouldn't be quite the same fit and finish as a raceseng one - they use internal o-rings and grease galleries and have used trial and error to get the perfect slip fit. 

 

If you just want something nicer than stock though, I could make you one - it'll be stainless steel rather than aluminium as well. 

 

I'm not sure how much it is to get a raceseng one in NZ but I'd say it'd be more than one by me.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
