O2 Sensor On 2005 Forester STI

TNHSTI

Recommended Posts

Hey Suby Team! when I tuned my 2005 Forester @PBMS the car had a full turbo-back exhaust when I bought it from Ajay @Subirex Automotive when it was being tuned they told me the o2 sensor would need replacing however I cant see any 02 sensor in the down-pipe or the rest of the exhaust at all.. it has the A/F sensor further up in the headers but no sensor further back, there is a bung however that PBMS put in presumably for their own o2 sensor?

The reason I want to replace it is because when its cold it runs a tad rough and I have a feeling this is the cause - however car is not throwing any CEL at all

Any Ideas?

Does it have a cat still in the exhaust ? The rear o2 sensor is only there to bounce the afr around and keep the cat happy on the older cars and do not affect afr corrections but not sure on the newer ones. They usually just take the sensor out and turn the cel light off in the software.

No it has no cats at all, yeah i think thats what they did thinking about it now, so i guess its the front one in the headers that meeds replacing..

depending how its mapped, maybe the cold ruining was not sorted as there are fuel compensations that need to apply in the cold

as a test you can do a quick unplug of the 02 and do a cold start and see if there is a noticeable difference

but yea the headers have the main o2 sensor and its not uncommon for it to die and cause fuel inconsistancy

Hmm yeah it could well be the cold - I'm just thinking that the sensor is the issue as PBMS stated when tuning that they were getting some inconsistency's from the sensor but they were still able to do the tune and stated it would need replacing at some point ill try do a scan with my U-scan and see if it brings anything up..

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
