VF22 on trademe

Hi there,

 

Has anyone from the south island sold a VF22 on trademe in the last few weeks?

 

I have been trying to make contact with the seller, because i bought it and it was advertised as being in mint condition and  with no play.  However it is FAR from mint, there are oil lines missing, studs are broken and one is missing, and it has a LOT of end play in the shaft. I have taken it to subaru specialists and it is too far gone to be any good. I know they are an old turbo but it has about considerably more play than my vf28 that has done 150,000kms.

 

Basically it is not useable and i have been tryin to email the seller for he last 2-3 weeks to resolve this and i am getting no response.

 

Wondered if there is a possibility someone here might no someone who has sold a vf22 in recent weeks.

did you try dispute via trademe also mate? maybe also post the sellers TM name in case someone has dealt with him before and has other contact details.  seeing from the FB posts that there are  far too many vf22 shifted daily to narrow it down just based on south island + sold vf22 in recent weeks.

Yep i have filed a dispute through trademe and still no luck. Was purchased on 19th july and received it a few days later so i have been reasonably patient waiting for a response

 

I have his name as listed from his email which is "Hin Chilvers"

 

Trademe name is starry11 says from christchurch.

https://www.facebook.com/Hinstarr?ref=br_rs hin chilvers from chch. fb nick is hinstarr there, which coincides with the tm name of starry11 you provided, so high probability it's the one you're looking for. having said that, this acount is some female, guessing the mrs of the actual seller, Jamie Jay Gibson (https://www.facebook.com/jamie.jay.gibson) based on regular tags together and the commentary.

 

 

could try mesaging there on either (or both) above accounts, seems to be active, careful fo being too aggressive as i suspect one of them is a kids or his mrs account (also you probably wouldn't progress far in negotiations that way). but first take snips of the people listed as his friends/family etc. in case he blocks you or makes it private and you can't see it later. may have some luck messaging them if get desparate and TM doesnt help with your dispute.

 

may even get lucky and someone here is a mutual friend.

 

jamies car / plate pictured below (or so it was in june 2017), may lead you further to finding mutuals that can help you find this guy and do right by the trade. on his fb acc also has some history of subies pictured along with plates, but i guess he dont own them anymore. his jan 30th 2018 profile pic suggests he currently has a gc8 with white wheels or something (i prob got the gen wrong)

I had had a similar deal with a vf30 happen to me on trademe, filed a dispute but trademe aren't very helpful. They removed the guy's account but basically said you will have to take him to court to go any further. I'm all for justice but it wasn't really worth my time to try and pursue the case. I sold the turbo cheap to a guy that wanted bits off it and just accepted my loss.

 

I hope you have a better experience than me.

I dont have time to go to court over it. I would just like my money back and send the turbo back to him. Will try contact him through facebook

 

He obviously knew it was dodgy given he hasnt responded to any emails. But clearly advertised it as mint and had no play.

I'm buying selling constantly and have never come across this guy but a quick look at his facebook says he's been in hospital recently lol , maybe that is part of it. 

 

Call him out on facebook, it worked in the past for me. Just start off peaceful and say you want to return the faulty turbo he sold you for a refund ect ect. Do it on the NZ subaru pages

 

On another note I have a vf24 for sale if you find yourself needing something let me know

I eventually had an email response from the seller saying it was his ex flatmate that had used his account. Which i think is a load of rubbish as all communications re payment and shipping were directly with him from his own email address.

 

I dont think i am going to get anywhere with it. I have since listed it back on trademe stating the issues it has.  Just need to get what i can back out of it. Will be dropping it to a $1 reserve auction.

 

So if anyone needs parts from it bid away.
