RWD and how to make it handle

Dont know if this thread is in the right place so mods move it if you feel the need.

I have rwd'd my wrx and as everyone has said handleing is up the creek, has anyone else played round with susp setting to get it to handle better?

I was gonna PM Driftrex but thought this info could be quite useful, so....

any thoughts?

In the front. Theres a 4 point brace you can buy...sometimes called a underbody strut sometimes called a subframe brace.

Probably be the last thing to put on though as this will tighten the front up more and make it even more taily. Id start at tighten the rear up with bushes and braces.

BUT in saying that...sometimes with the kart if its taily you need to look at whats happening with the front.

Ie wheel alignments etc.

k frame brace, im with ya now....yeah it super taily as it is.... adjustables and strut barces front/rear, just wanted to try and get it feeling a bit better, its quite a random feeling compared to the 4wd, one of my mates who drift skylines all the time recons it could all subarus average lsd, and maybe if i shimmed it would make it feel a bit more solid on the road.

Since your now RWD you should look at getting a bigger front ARB

Even consider moving to a smaller Rear ARB

^ this.

And setting some toe-in at the rear, 0 (or miniscule toe out) at the front. And finding as much castor as you can.

Isnt the LSD a viscous unit in yours? Good luck shimming that

is it not doable at all. as my mate got a shimmed up wrx diff?

ONly on the plate one's. i.e. RA diff's + I think some Type R's

I would say, your best bet at improving handling would be to make it AWD... ;)

Was AWD and handling was good :) ....blew gearbo :( x, had RWD box sitting in workshop :D , put in in, does good skids and slides everywhere ;D ....but handling = FAIL :( , hence this thread... 8)

smiley overload.....

also I took mine to the wheel alignment place and got them to do a "rwd" wheel alignment on it, helped heaps

yeah can see i will need to do this as i alway take axles out by undoing the camber bolts instead of the ball joint, just easier IMO

Why would you do that? The ball joint doesnt even need the wheel taken off to remove... AND its only one small bolt.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
