What have you done to your car today?

What a mission trying to get nolethane bushes...!

Originally went to Repco and got annoyed with the guy after almost 20 mins of searching so decided to go to a "suspension specialist" (Autolign). Think I should have stuck with Repco as I've had to jack the car up, removed suspension components and make 4 trips back to Autolign to swap parts...! Very frustrating...

They couldn't supply me with an OEM front swaybar nolethane bush so decided to go for aftermarket nolethane mounts too as I was ensured they would fit a GC8 - guess what... they don't (without having to bend them, which I'm not prepared to do as they should be a straight replacement part). Didn't like the idea of them anyway, so will be returning parts today (trip number 5)!

OEM has angled mounts, nolethane has flat...

The reason I'm not prepared to use the nolethane mounts / bushes...!

Has anyone used nolethane front swaybar bushes for OEM swaybar (19mm). If so, where did you get them? Thinking about going past Subaru later today to get factory parts.

Did a road tune with Alistair from Raijin Performance. All went well apart from injectors maxing out at top end revs. Along with a long wait for full boost to kick in! Hopefully adjusting my internal will help that a bit. I hope.... So now to order a set of 800cc. Will have a set of 550cc sards up for grabs soon!

Thats with that TD06sl2 20g steve/marc jobbie? Did you get a virtual sheet for it? Should be pulling nicely maxing 550cc injecs.

Yes is with the SL2 Clint. Virtual sheet showed 205wkw on 1.1/1bar but should go better once 800s are in and capable of holding 1.5 to the end along with reducing the lag. Waiting waiting...5k rpm..yay we are off!

Either that or build a 2.5 like marc said and no more lag. But spencer doesnt like spending money lol

Pickapart 250t shortblock...wallet will love it as long as you dont drive it.

Looks laggier than my hybrid. I havent got a decent road to VD on up here everything has dips and lumps but looks similar response wise with my ultra safe tuning on spring pressure. What boost control?

Good to hear! At least Marc had the professionalism of doing everything right and even checking your AFRs. I bet you would have saved $1000 easily! Which is a tune!

Im pretty sure hes quite sick of seeing my car now, but yeah very happy with it. Its in at the panelbeaters now getting the rear end damage pulled out and straightened up and my bootlid painted. never ending money expenditure it seems.

Yeah shes pretty laggy! Have been told to adjust actuator rod for when im back for a touch up and hopefully that will reduce the lag a tad. Yeah or wait till my 2.5 leggy melts a headgasket or gets loved by someone from behind lol.

Or look for some genuine STI twin scroll headers with stock heat sheilds if you are after response and cant afford displacement.. Thoes big primarys wont be doing you any favours and you have more manifold to fill.. (yes its TS but litrally almost have twice the mani to fill and thoes SSI have big pipes..)

No trade off with displacement with you really spence lol your scared of the red line so reving a 2.5 to 7000 would be right up your ally :D

Ordered front swaybar bushes from Subaru dealership yesterday after hassles dealing with Repco & Autolign, went to collect them today and guess what... Subaru got the wrong bushes too...!

What a nightmare, may have to replace the entire subframe or machine my own at this rate...! Can't believe how difficult it is to replace OEM parts on a 99 STI Type R!

Bought 60 liters of e85 and 40 liters of 98. Made the car wet, filled clutch resevoir, both brake reservoirs, rear diff oil, gear box oil and the fuel tank. Leaks evident at fuel filter, faulty product from supplier but we managed to fix it, pretty happy not one of my fittings leaked and there's a lot of them.

Clutch hose had a hole in it though (should have just bought new straight away) so replaced that and it's all good, nice feeling having brakes again, and a clutch after 3 years.

Not looking foward to the 4 am start tommorow but sort of can't wait either. :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
