What have you done to your car today?

Yesterday:

Removed schitty turbosmart bov and hacked up recirc pipe. Installed v8 sti recirc pipe and valve. Cut paper gasket as temp solution as whoever put on the turbosmart valve biffed the old gasket.

Removed 250t headers and replaced with v7 sti headers.

Went to drain gearbox oil... Nope, someones totally rooted the sump bolt. Drained most from front diff, then pulled off the sump to drain the rest. Cleaned sump magnet... It was absolutely covered in shards of metal. Gearbox oil was green, cloudy, gluttery and stuuuunk.

New oil in (fuchis 75w90 synthetic)

Today: engine oil and filter change, bleed brakes, bleed clutch, change oil in flatmates truck.

Yesterdays efforts made it soooo much,nicer to drive, no stumbling, smoother gearshifts and no jerking on lift off, boost comes on harder and soooo much faster. Very happy, so much nicer to drive.

Cleaned the interior, bloody dog left half his fur in the back, took 4 hours of vacuuming, and pulling all the panels out to get it out of the carpet!

Turns out- road works are dangerous on a road bike.

luckily low speed and only grazes. bike's still good too.

Installed a Whiteline ALK to go with my new alloy control arms.

I ended up going with the 'motorsport' kit as I was able to get them in NZ for $200 new which is $140 cheaper than getting them through Whiteline.

Braking + cornering stability is improved although I haven't been able to properly test it out yet.

The only negative things noticed so far is increased road/tyre noise and a harsher jolt when going over drain covers/potholes, things most people won't care about because who buys these cars for ride comfort...

Zerosports intercooler splitter installed

Sprayer jet setup tidied

Upper engine cleaner run through

Roof racks installed

New front door speakers installed

Under seat sub installed

V8 sti blackout redface defi cluster installed

And I even had a few moments to drive it!!!

Got my tablet working, Btssm works with my car so i'm thinking out some way of mounting the tablet

well, Car shot flames today- so I got that going for me.

Yesterday I was playing motorcycle mechanic,

new bars, mirrors, indicators, chain and sprocket. and it still works which means I didn't break anything.

oddly now the bike is effectively gremlin free. so pretty chuffed with that.

Anyone know the roundabout cost of a re-spray? probably around 1500?

Might get some Selleys next weekend and finally seal up the boot spoiler.

Temp wired up my underseat sub in the passenger footwell, she works! Future Tim's job to take the passenger seat out and mount it.

Poked my head under the wagooon to check the swaybar link lengths, and noticed the rear muffler/ fart cannon is barely held on, as the outer skin is cracking around the welds on the mounting brackets.

Plus its all scraped up underneath, and has at least one hole in it, so its not long for this world anyway.

So no Dukes of Hazzard impressions till I can bust out the welder and get all Albatross turd on it.

Might have to last till I get my shizen together and fit the downpipes and new 3" zorst I have planned.

cleaned up sump... getting all the bits of silicon out from the bottom is really difficult.

lapped 12 new valves, 4 to go.
