Fitted newly painted bonnet scoop and machine cut and polished the 20 year old paint work that hadn't been cleaned in 10 years

So far today I have replaced the rear sway bar mount bushes on the BG and have done oil and filter on the BH.

With the help of @Subirex Automotive Aka Ajay, the motor is in and mostly ready to go. tomorrow will be the tell! Just need to get a couple washers and figure out a way to mount the powersteering pump.

Went for nice drive with the misses into RS RA. Went up dyers pass to summit road. Down gebbies pass to little River, then up the hill to the eastern Bay part of the summit road and back over the hill through devaucille (spelling may be wrong). Then back over gebbies pass to governors Bay for afternoon tea and then home. The car was awesome. Soo nice round the twisty bits and enough power to leave a grin on both our faces!

I thought you only just got the BIlsteins? I would possibly be interested..what happened to the springs?

 

Did you put the tein springs onto standard shocks? I'm sure the pic you posted a while back had yellow shocks with green springs? Or am I imagining things?

Haha I see the confusion. I purchased the Tein springs on a set of Bilsteins (set 2). Instead of chucking them in as purchased, I wanted to stick with my 'original' set of Bilsteins (set 1) so swapped the Teins onto them (set 1) and now am left with the additional set (set 2).

Nothing's happened to the springs, I still have the standard springs that came out, but I would like to hang onto them for future use.

They're a Wildcat set. Yeah they are steel.

Put the suspension back into the RS and got it running right for the first time in a while, then backed it out of the garage and backed it back in so now it's ready to have the engine pulled, in anticipation for a new shell I'll hopefully be getting...

So, something I would highly not recommend is the following.

 

DON'T plug the coolant plug for the factory oil cooler, forget that you've plugged it after you've decided to use the factory oil cooler, then put on twin scroll headers and motor into the car. It is an absolute GIT to get at no matter the tools you've got. 

 

Took me two hours, cut hands and a bruised ego to get that plug out and another 30 odd to get the other piece in there. 

 

It's not too bad with single scroll headers. With twin scroll headers (STi ones at least), one of the runners goes directly over the top of the plug.

Oh Also, flat mate went and bought a Version II STi Type RA. Our Flat of three now owns, 1 nugget (pulsar), 3 Subaru's (two STi Type RA's and a BP), a BMW 318 with a M52 conversion and mazda brakes, and another red nugget (corolla)

 

I think we've got enough now... Right??
