What have you done to your car today?

Installed new HKS exhaust today, after @sobanoodle extensive testing in this area. I chose the same setup. HKS ES Premium midpipe and mufflers. Fills the back exhaust holes in the bumper much better.

Originally had STI tips which someone in japan spent a bit of money on just to have some Stainless multi tip mufflers saying STI.

installed a factory optional extra, should be standard but anyway spoiler installed after drilling holes in the rear door!!! Subaru supplied great template to make sure its pretty much fool proof. Back of car pretty much finished how I like it at the moment. Might just plasti dip the chrome strip black.

Replaced my walbro fuel pump with a deatschwerks Dw200 (tuner richened up my fueling maps, still leaning out on boost, high rpm high load det even with a really fat fuel map)

Turns out:

Old pump wasnt a walbro. It was the factory sti fuel pump. Done some crazy milage, pump motor clearances had got so sloppy that the previously quiet pump made more of a racket than the walbro's I had on previous cars.

The new Dw200 (255lph) pump is significantly quieter, lets see if that helps!!

So part 2 of yesterday now didn't go too well... got the exhaust removed got the mid pipe and muffler all mounted. Go to fit the catless 2.5" down pipes and they foul on the transmission sump. Had to return it all back to how it was as it is booked in for a wheel alignment today. Part of me wants to just sell them and part of me reckons my half assed welding skills could make it work...

Just decat the primary pipe for $free and flick the big ones

They don't make *that* much difference and the money from selling them would pay for a TD05 and manfold

Just sayin

Yeah was thinking just on selling the whole thing as have from turbo all the way back as a spare. Will have to wait till the next time I have a few days off to do the de-cat though as I still have a heap of other jobs around the house to do. Oh the joys of being a homeowner and having a young child... ha ha! Oh well.

dXzha2C.jpgstereotype of old legacy:

labrador in boot (well, a lab sized collie / shepherd cross)

gold wheels because subaru

bonnet raised on Saturday morning 😂

Reason: Surges when cold for a minute and missfire on high boost, cleaning the afm improved it slightly but plugs were the next bet

I wonder if this could be the reason... I mean I'm no expert but call it a hunch

Joys of buying a 15 year old car for $1500

On the plus side it was $1500 so I can't complain all that much

Replaced a fuel injector which had somehow cracked and sprung a leak. Not a big leak but enough to stink up the cabin.

Also not technically done to the car........yet. Fresh from powder coat this morning

Made and installed some ghetto fmic braces. It was only mounted via the bumper support panel that has had more hits than Elvis so I thought I better do something so I don't run it over.

Is that model not ducted through the guard like older generations?

Uhhh don't think so. The only thing in the guard on a 2016 is the intake resonator which is a bottle that sits under the air box. Otherwise it's just a normal front facing panel filter

Last night we finally got brave and tried to start my friend's engine-converted Civic.

It started life as a D15 carbo-saurus, the new heart is a B20Vtec (CRV 2 litre block + B16A VTEC head) that was built by us in our garages.

I was fairly certain it was just going to go nonga nonga rattle rattle and die.

We had a dead fuel pump (screw you, trademe guy) and an air-lock in the fuel rail (jeez never seen that before???) but once that was resolved, wonder of wonders, it started and sounded healthy as!

Now to try and learn how to HonData and get it at least drivable so it can go to Prestige and get a tune :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
