  4. This is just a general heads up to all who may come on the forums - Remember that what is said online here is not private info, anyone - and that means anyone - can read it. This includes the warranty advisers from Subaru, the NZ police, Insurance Assessors, people of that ilk who you may not want to know certain things you may have done. Allegedly. If you post on here about the mods you put on, then removed to claim the gearbox you blew up, or the wall you hit at hampton downs - they do look on here, especially if you have a sticker on the car saying "I heart this website". Double points if you put up photos or videos with your number plate visible. It's not an old wives tale - there are members on here who have seen their post history brought up in court proceedings, I personally know folks who have had warranties voided after photos emerged of cars at track days - and know of at least one person who's been double hit with a declined insurance claim followed by insurance fraud case for an accident claimed while on the racetrack Don't be dumb

  6. @Kiwi_Fozze DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM Also by way of follow up My previous two Rev D legacies both had the revised hose arrangement - meaning no "hose 10 mod" to be done, they had a direct line from manifold to BOV from factory I have a Rev C (backlit dash, new interior, old headlights and ECU setup) at the moment which been done, runs 15psi primary by 2400rpm and about 20psi on secondary (there may be another issue here) - it ran about 10 / 14psi before Some rev D apparently do not have a revised hose arrangement? I am confuse by this - I get the feeling there's some confusion re what hoses are even being talked about

  10. While I disagree with the blanket - 25 yr - rule. It serves it's purpose because that's exactly it. Younger people do take more risks (see doing dumb stuff) than older people. Albeit I believe it should be down to accredited driving skills and certificates along with driving history, rather than blanket 25 yr rule. @Conducks Please don't take this as a telling off. It's from one clubsub enthusiast to another, trying to give you advice. Please heed it. While I can appreciate your enthusiasm for your car, and love the fact we've actually got someone in here who posts regularly that has one of the newer gen cars, you need to stop posting about doing dumb sh!t on the streets. That's coming from us as admin's of Clubsub. We understand that as a younger person (I'm 24), that sometimes you may see something as harmless, however it'll pull yourself and possibly the club into disrepute. I for example got absolutely thrashed and told off by @Fastfour rightfully so, for posting a video of a friend (actually wasn't myself) going rather fast and generally being a bit reckless on the road. Admitting that you've done something online in conjunction with a court order for details of said person can be used in court, your car can be taken and a conviction / fine / loss of license etc can occur (this is to the best of my knowledge) because of this. You seem a good kid at heart, done some silly things, just like I have, and a bit miss-guided. We're trying to guide you here to not make the mistakes we made.

  12. Unfoftunately, the stats show that younger drivers take more risks. Tbat's a fact of life for insurance - all about limiting risk. And whether we agree or not, a young driver and a high performance car isn't always a good mix. Personally, I think power/engine limits should be imposed under a certain age - a bit like bikes. This is not a reflection on you or anyone else, but when you get older you start to feel less bullet proof and take less risks. That said, tbere are still the complete knobs out there who continue to drink and drive and a greater percentage tend to be over 40. Nothing wrong with a cheaper run around until you get older. Pretty sure most on here started that way (me included). Didn't buy my first brand new car until last year and I'm 50.

  13. Being the son of an ex Police crash analyst who got told all his stories from work, it really doesn't matter if you know your car and if you know how to handle it, if you're going to be stupid in it (ie drifting on a public road) you are more likely to crash, the only real difference in being stupid and crashing in a standard corolla or a modified STI is how much there is to clean up

  14. I don't mean to be a cock but can't help it... Drifting in front of a cop is not what I'd call driving fairly responsibly Number of tickets incurred does not translate to skill level

  16. I got the rockwell rotary buffer from supercheap and what a heap of S*** that thing is, speed 1 doesn't even turn, speed 2 turns so slowly you can't even put it on the paint without it stopping instantly and speed 3 is like too fast to even polish with lol. Maybe mines faulty I dunno, but def stay away from them. I've heard good things about the rockwell DA which I'll probably go for next. product wise you'll need cuttiing compound, wax for polishing, a cutting pad, a microfibre/polishing pad, clay bars, soft yellow sponge wax applicator pads, microfiber towels (at least 6-10) and I think that should get you started pretty nicely. Aliexpress has these dirt cheap if you don't mind waiting a month or so. Do yourself a favour and grab the microfiber cutting/polishing pads, and get your product from the likes of pacer.co.nz or the sprayshop here in chch I love meguiars but the NZ supplier is a frekn wanker and slaps like a 300% markup on the stuff. If you import it from USA it's 1/4 the price (if anyone knows a local shop importing it and not charging through the teeth please let me know lol) , supercheap wants 46$ a bottle in usa they charge under 10usd lol. As for polishing tips I'm a real amateur lol, follow the youtube videos from AMMO, he explains things quite well and it helps sort of put things in context.
