  1. Another update. The car was tuned last week by WRC Developments in Napier. I'm very happy with the results. Graham was very professional and definitely knows his stuff! The car feels the best it ever has.

  3. 🤤 This is a build I've had in mind for a while due to its budget-friendliness. The first-gen EZ30 is ideal for a bit of boost due to its single exhaust port heads, they were never awesome naturally asperated but boosted the less efficient head exits don't really cause drama and make it easy to fab up a custom turbo kit. Here is what I would do if I was tackling this, hope it answers some of your questions. 250kw seems achievable but also it's going to be nice and torquey so even if you only get to 220-230kw it's still going to be an awesome streetcar. Id stick with the 5MT - going to the 6MT is not budget-friendly Stock ECU is fully tunable if its a Rev-D.. I would run the stock ECU and an external EBC Turbo - nice big Chinese eBay special. Something that flows nicely, it already has low down so later spooling is not a major IMO. STI Pink 500cc injectors will get you there no problem.. and they fit straight in.

  5. Devil's advocate: Probably a s***load of cash to spend to get 230kw, or 250kw of unknown reliability. Less devil's advocate: Yeah, big chinese turbo or a Ford GT35; if you can't do the fab yourself then this is probably an infeasible project.

  6. No real world exp At ~250kw it's probably not necessary but I'd go legacy 6sp (as they come up fairly cheap) if possible - need to convert abs signal to speedo as they have no speedo drive so that does add another minor expense. DCCD is a nice to have for 95% of driving imo due to $, depends on the cars use. And turbo I'd recommend something internally gated for ease of plumbing - gt35 off a xr6 turbo seem to come up now and again for a decent price. No clue on the factory ecu's but links are great Walbro & pinks or decapped factory

  7. Anyone got any experience with running Boost through the first gen EZ30? I have an 02 RS30 thats a good solid car with relatively low ks. Been looking at upgrading to a facelift BP SpecB, but for the extra $$, i'd rather build something fast that has that flat six howl. I currently have no budget, as i'm still planning what i want, which will determine budget. (i also need to finish my bike build) This won't be a top shelf build though, more a Dirty but effective garage build. So Questions - is 250wkw acheivable on these motors unopened? Internet tells me yes, but i'd rather hear real world experiences. Manual Trans - 5 speed or 6? DCCD or not DCCD? Enlighten me! ECU: Can the factory ECU be tuned or should i be looking at something like a G4? Turbo: What turbos do people recommend? bearing in mind i'm a bit out of the loop with turbo tech (last play i had with boost was on a BD5 many moons ago) Any idea where the factory injectors/fuelpump will max out? what are good upgrade options on a budget?

  8. Do you have the little security key to turn the module off? Turn the security key on the unit off / on Wait for the immobiliser to turn on (solid blue light) Disarm immobiliser using alarm remote. Lock and unlock the car using factory key. Once unlocked with factory key then arm with the alarm remote. When I take my battery out I have to play around with the alarm when it goes back in. Because the alarm remote won’t lock or unlock the doors. Resetting the alarm module with the security key and then syncing the central locking with the alarm remote works for me
