  2. So since we’re going to be released back into the wild again I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of local businesses, cafes, places to stay etc to support during these times In the lower north island (E.g - wgtn, New Plymouth, Taupo, Hawkes bay) and if anyone would be interested in going for a cruise at some point? to a cafe or maybe just a park somewhere and I’ll bring my camping cooking gear? even though this is in the wgtn section it’s open to all who are still active local day trips interregional day trips or over night trips? suggestions and thoughts appreciated Obviously all precautions will be taken might ***** out the RA-R if people turn up

  3. Not to res a dead thread, I wish I would have seen this at the time. I deliver 98 to varies Auckland fuel stations pretty much daily. Mobil’s 98 does not contain ethanol. Auckland to New Plymouth, if it’s a mobil station and has 98, it comes from Mount Maunganui and there is no ethanol. I’m not on the terminal side of the business, but it’s my understanding that the major difference between bp and mobil is the additive package.

  5. 99% sure that's a WRX. Non red manifold is a giveaway. See if you can work out what the turbo is too. If it was an STI it would have some other dead giveaways like a 6 speed and STI interior bits. EDIT: It may have had an STI bonnet put on it. STI bonnet should be alloy, I believe the others are steel?

  6. it's 100% a GGA. Not a GGB (STi). GGB also comes with a 6 speed manual transmission. You probably have a 5spd.

  7. Sold my Falcon yesterday, quite excited about that! Bought it almost 2 years ago for $6990, sold yesterday for $6500, not bad... And the STI has a new down-pipe from PBMS sitting beside it, and awaiting arrival of a new fuel pump, and ProcessWest intake, then just need to organise a tune and get it all installed.

  11. That seems like stuuuupid money for the 2005 if I'm honest, unless it's a top-spec NZ model and immaculate. How big is a small boat? We used to tow a 14.5ft alloy boat around with a 3.0 and it went really really well, but if you go too much bigger the gearbox starts to suffer a bit. Mind you I know a bloke that towed a much heavier 5.5m boat all over the country with his and it didn't seem to mind too much. EDIT: Also worth investigating some of the trim level differences... for example quite a lot of the NZ 3.0's got a ?plate? rear differential which will make a big difference for skifield roads and pulling a boat up a s****y boat ramp.

  14. Was driving over to Eketehuna yesterday and between the track and Pahiatua i spotted a black legacy approaching from behind at speed. I was doing 110 and the bh Gt passed me as if i was a rolling chicane. So i speed up a little just to see how fast he was going and followed for a couple of minutes at 130ish. I then backed off and he disappered into the distance. After another few ks the legacy appeared to be slowing and i caught up again. Approaching a right hand uphill corner I noticed a huge cloud of white/blue smoke covering the road. I had to slow right down to see through the cloud and 100 meters up the road was the legacy idling away with smoke billowing from the exhaust. Some one will be looking for a new turbo. And thats my sharn...
