  1. Hi, could be a number of issues causing this such as a fault/short with the ignition switch, sticking ignition immobiliser relay or a faulty after market turbo timer -if fitted. Best bet would be to have an AVS reseller or you local Auto Electrician check it over. https://avscarsecurity.com/installers/

  2. Would never really have expected myself to own anything like it.. The space is great though and it's really surprisingly good on fuel. Must only have a baby turbo on it though, spools super easy and nice and torquey through 2.5 - 4.5k rpm. After that there's just nothing haha.

  3. Silverdale Transfer Station take it, free of charge. Noone else seems to advertise doing it, but a guy from ChemWaste (Onehunga) said I could bring some down for free if it's a small volume (~8L).

  4. Remembered that I had several sets of STi pedals sitting in the garage, so mashed together an Auto GC/GF and a manual BP/BL set to make a set up for the wagon, and now have a set for the WRX too if i decide to get rid of the V7 pedals i have fitted at the mo. Weirdly I have a cover that looks like it fits the foot rest, but the instructions make no mention of it, so can't figure out how to fit it. So if anyone knows let me know

  5. Glad to see you'll have it running by the time I'm back up Exhaust welded, now I just need some silicone to finish off the gluing I'll be doing. Leone is very nearly ready for a wof

  6. In my opinion, classic car is more than just an old car. Classic car should be in good condition, reasonable mileage and as original as possible. These day people just put up a high price tag on their Subaru and say" this is a collectible car" just because of the age is over 20 years old. Most of them are average to poor condition with lots on k done on the car. Back to the topic, I have run the chassis number GF8-015083 on Subaru Japan Website and returned it as a 1995/08 STI Version II Wagon.

  7. Supply and demand, so many old wrx's have been crashed or stolen that the numbers are dwindling with demand just as high or increasing (people have a lot of money atm), price will go up accordingly. I have noticed when I compare NZ prices to the UK or Japan they are slightly inflated though, probably asking 15-20% higher on average, even ignoring shipping prices here are high

  8. For some perspective, I bought a V3 GF8 WRX in arguably better condition and 140000kms for $3400 _in 2009_. 11 years ago. Back then an STI was like $5k. I honestly can't see how these somewhat rough, non-collectable cars have appreciated in the interim.

  9. Been doing a little bit of a search on the Internet and the only place that I could find that takes old coolant is Bowaters Toyota in Nelson. But might be worth calling around local workshops to see if they will take it. Edit. I realized now that I did not read the whole post a and most of what I've said has already been posted 😮

  10. I can only assume that Brad will get a notification of this, seeing as the last post was 2 years ago. But if you have no luck, then AVS Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/avscaralarms, or webpage: http://avscarsecurity.com/

  11. As a bit of 'lol' follow up to this post. He went ahead and purchased the car. I picked it up and drove it home for my brother. Got it up the driveway and it was all sound, gave it a bit of a rev and the radiator hose blew it ass off, pissing hot coolant all down the side of the car and through the engine bay. Long story short: Car was a bit of lemon, bad rebuild job with the gaskets, got lots of money back from the seller, engine has been rebuilt again with a TD05 installed instead. Will be good to see it on the road once it's complete.
