  2. Yup, sorry, another thread. I've been searching all night for this one though, cause I know it's been done, but I can't find ****. Call it mondayitis affecting my judgement... So I'm buying a V7 EJ207 shortie from subaru, and slapping my 20R heads on it, I need to know the finer points Are there issues with valves and pistons? Are there issues with compression ratios? Anyone know what thickness headgaskets I need? The heads have been planed once, when they were rebuilt first time, I do not know how much has been taken off (I can't imagine much at all, they were only 100,000k old and died of big end, not head gasket) Again, sorry for all the new threads and my ineptitude at search. I am continuing my search though.

  3. 0.20mm intake and 0.25mm exhaust, +/- 0.02mm.

  4. Gazzy bopped v3/4 sti heads on a ej207 v7 sti shortie 9 months or so ago and scottspeed/dwight had a few posts on it also. Guessing those heads would be similar but that sheet of head/block specs would set you right.

  5. I had the conversion done last year, ended up costing a bit but worth it in the long run. VVT engine has quite a bit more torque. You\'ll need a few bits along the way such as custom power steering lines etc..., radiator hoses and a few other bits. Nothing serious.

  6. I'd say you would be roughly 8.4:1 with the v7 sti head gasket and 7.8:1 with the v3-v4 sti head gasket. Try and find a 1mm head gasket to get you right about 8:1

  7. The table reckons 8.3:1 compression, but I don't know to believe it or not. And yes, v3/4 STi and 20R heads are essentially the same bit of metal, the difference is only what's bolted into them. I'll hit gazzy up on it.
