My factory BOV is real loud, just a big PSHHHH. Why is it that a free flow filter especially if on a custom full intake makes it so loud?

I\'ve been struggling to find the info for my oils for a DCCD 2002 Sti spec c. Subaru Wairau Rd has recommended me Castrol Multitrax 80w90 for the front diff/box and SL90 for the rear diff, didn\'t say what brand though. Thoughts?
