  1. We're looking for a new subie to replace me and the missus' aging legacies and are keen to maybe get one with an isofix system as we've another kid on the way. Does anyone one know what year/gen Subaru brought it out as standard? for those that dont know, isofix/latch system is those child seat anchor points at the bottom of the rear seat uprights. thanks guys and girls!
  2. cool thanks, will give it a shot tomorrow. cher
  3. yeh it is just water so hopefully its just the drain thats blocked, anyone know where it is so i can unblock it? cher
  4. hey guys, my missus' car is playing up. There is a solid drip of water in the passenger footwell of her 92 legacy and it seems to be related to the aircon somehow, anyone know what this is? is it just condensation or something or should i try fix it somehow. thanks for the help, cher.
  5. yeh mate i bought them off you, this was a random part i bought ages before that
  6. like the title says, bought this a few years ago when i knew even less about my gtb than i know now. If anyone has any ideas then please enlighten me. think it might be for a wrx or possibly a single turbo rs? oh and if anyone knows what its worth/ wants to buy it please let me know. thanks.
  7. this guy offered me his car for mine. i laughed in his face at the insult I just threw up in my mouth a little.
  8. hmm what hasnt been done? thermostat and gasket waterpump timing belt tbelt idlers tbelt tensioner oil filter+oil spark plugs runs so much better now, and it doesnt have a blown head gasket as suspected.
  9. really, they're with a phone? they came out nice for that maybe i should get my eyes checked or maybe just stop looking at clubsub at 630 in the morning haha. nice shots anyways i think. keen to come say whatup reuben but the custard wagon went up to chch on a trailer the other day with a suspected blown head gasket.
  10. looks like you're missing out on the fog over in qt reuben, we keep getting this crappy inversion layer this side of the range. damn nice photo's too, what are you shooting with?
  11. nah it hasnt been overheating since i replaced the radiator but i just keep on having to top up the coolant every few days, it only overheated once but it went right up into the red when it did.
  12. cool thanks, I also recently fiitted some siamese front pipes to a 3 inch mid pipe. this wouldnt be having any adverse affect on the engine would it? sorry if this is a stupid question haha. edit: also would it be worth buying a new waterpump? and are they pricey? thanks
  13. So my 97 bg5c manual wagon has blown its head gasket, at least we're 90% sure it has. It got real hot a couple months ago when my radiator cracked and i didnt notice so was driving around with little to no coolant left inside the car. Have since replaced the crappy standard radiator with an alloy one from redline performance (who i highly recommend btw). But now i just keep losing coolant and i'm sure there are no leaks anywhere, every couple of days i have to top up the coolant. I've taken it to the local mechanics and they seem to think its a head gasket issue as the coolant system is becoming pressurised after a few minutes cold running. Anyway long story short, the car is going up to chch to DCH motorsport to get the head gaskets replaced and have the heads skimmed. I'm just wondering if there is anything else i should get these guys to do while they have the engine out? thanks for the advice.
  14. seriously though aren't we just splitting hairs here? if your car needs fuel then you have to put some in it, thats it.
  15. do i what!, damn that thing was nice. it just feels so refined and smooth next to my bg, pretty sure it will remain a pipe dream however.
  16. yeh sweet, not too worried about modding it much. it might get a very quiet exhaust and maybe a couple braces/anti lift kit or something, but 206kw is plenty for all i use my wagon for (a few long trips to christchurch a lot of short trips round town and a heap of trips up the ski field). I've heard that the 6's use a lot more fuel than the twin turbs as they are 3L, has anyone got any real world experience with both? cheers
  17. truly truly horrible, i actually feel sorry for the car. who would do such a thing?
  18. yeh that does seem to be the logical choice, oh well i might see how much i squeeze out of the bank. cheers fellas edit: oh yeh and my wagon is just staring to crap out in all sorts of small ways so i figured i should flick it before it dies for good. hence the reason for upgrade
  19. talked to the fellas at indycars and they thought around 3.5-4k and i was hoping that they were just being tight c%^ts but i guess not then. hmmmm maybe i will just buy lotto tickets instead haha. took this for a test drive too. if only i had the cash. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/Legacy/auction-294709888.htm
  20. yeh i was looking at the bl/bp versions but the extra cash is a killer especially as i have kid on the way soon. i figure i can get maybe 4-5k for the old bg5 on a trade in then hopefully get a decent bh/be for around 9 - 10k so thats a 5k difference but if i went bp then its more like a 10k difference. also are those reasonable prices for the b4 and my car? chur
  21. hey fellas, the old 97 custard mobile is starting to get a bit long in the tooth so i'm looking at upgrading to a newer version of the same car. definitely want a manual and i don't think i could go back to a n/a car now I've owned a turbo one for so long. not sure about getting a sedan or wagon though, i've got a wagon now but i don't really use the boot space all that much. I'm just after some general thoughts/comments on the be/bh shape legacies and if anyone knows of one in good condition for sale then let me know. thanks
  22. haha awesome, i was up there on saturday doing some riding, didnt go up in my car though and yeh the road was a farking mess near the top, we were sliding all over the show in my mates 4wd truck. good fun though but damn i am sore today, not used to snowboarding anymore :-[
