  1. I did search for this, apologies if it has been covered before. The radio unit (standard, not the fancier Macintosh) has started to play up. Completely dies for some hours/days then comes back. Is this a common fault? If I have to replace the unit is there a recommended option? I see that a double-din conversion kit with all the climate controls is available in NZ but it is $849 before I even buy a new head unit... Advice appreciated. Cheers N
  2. Ah, thanks for confirming mate. I will seek out the removal instructions. >>unplug the jap NAV unit Which plug is this, if you don't mind me asking?
  3. Thanks for your reply gazzy, I will check my unit again more carefully. Yours was the same model, CN-dv155?
  4. Yep, that is the kind of thing I was hoping for. But I can't see any such input on the unit under the drivers seat, and according to the (Japanese) instruction book pictures it looks like the camera input would go into the other end (somewhere) of the main rectangular block of cables, that is, not the unit end. Hope that makes sense. I guess yours is a different model of unit?
  5. Wondered if anyone has any success/advice at adding a reversing camera to this factory unit? When I put the car into reverse the factory screen automatically lights up with a couple of lines of graphics. I know the jap stuff can't be changed very much, but is it too much to hope for that I can plug in a cheap camera somewhere (back of screen?) and then we would see it when reverse is selected? I found the instructions (in Japanese) on the web already but it would be great to hear from anyone that has any experience with it. Cheers in advance Nick
  6. Peg, very interested in your post about the camera. I have a 2006 Legacy wagon with the jap screen, Panasonic DV155 nav DVD under the drivers seat etc. Adding a reversing camera seems a good idea to me, a cheap way to make the screen do something as at the moment it just lights up when reverse is selected. Can I ask where does the camera you link to plug in to? Have you a DV155 too? Cheers Nick
