  4. yeah if you had factory downpipe and went to siamese or similar you usually gain a psi or 2
  5. Mag Warehouse are no longer in Te Rapa...Its now Mag and Turbo owned/run by Big Bad Bruce haha...Of RIPEVO Sti Type R, RB26 Drift Cef that was recently in NZPC and numerous other cars.

  7. Disagree..... I didnt notice f all lag on mine.. Talk to any tuner of race cars or the like and theyl say start pushing ab it more factory power through and/or using on the track fmic is that way to go.
  8. 2 have been built in Tauranga. Cole Armstrong (V R34 Drift Car) has a retna coupe with a dccd 6 speed setup, brembos, cage, forged EZ30R wtih a rather large turbo on it. Dont think its been tuned yet though. The other one is gtoing to be 700+hp and has had ALOT of money spent onit will all become apparent in due time thoughy
  9. PBMS do a "Street" spec baffled sump that is $200 and you send your sump and they weld more baffles in. Best value for money..a full race sump will be in excess of $1.5k For hamptons id definatly have a sump of some sort after popping my motor there and seen and heard of many others killed there by oil surge issues

  11. Got a work ute so just got a 4x4 surf for the weekends/winter snow missions....tempted to put a 1UZ in it cause i can?? haha Over subis and there crap haha
  12. Actually i dont think there is any legal writing about in NZ at the moment however in the last months NZPC mag in the legal section there was a Q&A about streched tires and that there is a policy/guideline coming into place in hte next few months as to what is and isnt aloud.
  13. man i love your car!! Cheers man, no longer own or looks like anymore, has white rims and a bigger spoiler.Sold it late last year to a older guy in hamilton. Is curretnly getting a cage and a few other bits and pieces done on it.
  14. Think he's talking about RAC who had a Holset HX35/40 hybrid last time I heard anything about his car. As far as I know his car is not SKRMER. Yes i am talking about RAC and no it doesnt have the plate SKRMER....
  15. if you get down to the basics right - a short block (ignoring CC rating) is 'dumb', itl make pretty much the same power forged or not. factory heads stand up to a much more of a beating (longevity wise) than short blocks do which really is my point. Sure you can wind a factory shortblock up to 300kw for a nanosecond and it was asssplode everywhere. For some one of your knowledge and background its a poor comment and misleading on your part. When i talk about a motor making up to 300kw - i mean i want to drive it off the dyno - like any paying customer would. If that wasnt the case I'd ask why you yourself have forged your motor? It would make 300kw in factory format no? no i think not. i do beleive later model factory (v7 ej207) onwards do take more power than earlier ones reliably, but not to 300wkw, 240-50kwkw is about their peak (reliably speaking) ive fordged my motor so i can push the farken thing to 4-500kw when i choose!....bet you will say im joking but this build of mine is only the begining so i get use to the power of 300kw under 2 rear wheels...ill turn to awd when the power gets to 350kw + Is this before or after your tuner repairs your new engine for you? And no need to get personal. Funkytown was just stating pretty much well known power figures from standar EJ20T engines. am with madmike on this the most ive seen on a EJ207 was 270kw and that was pushing it. No matter what condition the motor is in the part thats not going to hold power is going to be your rods and id put money that a factory ej20 would not make it to 300kw at the wheels that is. What fails with the rods. do they bend/break? or pound the BEB to s***? cap bolts break? they come out top and bottom of the short block so not too sure what breaks first but i have pulled 3 apart and the bolts and bearing were still in place Not always...My rod snapped and it didnt pop out the block...not sure what order it happened in but hte rod snapped and the cap bolts sheard/cap flew off and flatted out as it flew around the sump at whatever rpm.....no noises after either just run on 3 cylinders...wasnt till i took the sump off and a rod fell out the bottom that i knew something was wrong lol
  16. The one i was referring to was RAC's car was a brand new off the shelf EJ257 short block with a v3 sti reconned heads from memory.
  17. really brad??? : my motor was fine more underlying problems than the power...well know one really knows but it should have been fine.
  18. errrr well to a point.....Whats his name from up north has been running his EJ257 with V3 Sti heads and has had numerous turbo setups over 3 years and last i saw was pushing 360kw....Has had ALOT of tuning htough as he road tunes himself and spent alot of time on it... However being pushed on the track day after day would be a differnt story.
  19. Your wrx will be a JDM one which had VF22, Yellow injectors and orange afm id say its from that error
  20. Not sure what your talking about buying from STA Parts but their quality of parts of late has been crap and i wouldnt be buying anyhting that your relieing on keeping your motor running especially fuelling.
  21. DTech motorsport "recap" them i think is how they do it with bigger caps and they flow 800cc+ they use them on alot of their race cars etc so no problems all spray tested etc
