  1. lol. I don't think they will back you up being employers. Fact is that wages are set by the market like anything else and are based on level of qualifications, experience and availability. Being a mechanic isn't as hard as being a brain surgeon, and the wages reflect that. There may be a shortage of good experienced mechanics in NZ... I don't know, but if there was, the wages would reflect that too.
  2. It seems to be the new standard in pricing. I have rung everywhere in Wellington and they all said $90.
  3. Definitely on the expensive side so shop around. Don't allow unqualified forum members to work on your car either.
  4. Such great cars. I don't think I will ever get bored of them.
  5. Ring racebrakes now and you'll have new pads by tomorrow morning.

    Any BRZ owners here ?

You might mean a Semantics Nazi not a Grammar Nazi... but whatever... Let me break it down for you. One is small, low c of g, well balanced and designed for drivers. The other is a big bulbous shopping trolley with a turbo bolted on. I know which one I prefer.

Man you are funny sometimes... always find a way to make a comment I didn't compare them as such... I stated that one was more desirable to me than the other.

BRZ is way more desirable than any 2000+ WRX
  9. Thread merge time? I'm all for having a good pointless rant... but one thread is easier to avoid.
  10. racebrakes.co.nz are good as well... plenty of options if hawk are not available.
  11. Way too small. Should be like this one.
  12. I can't say what's best for you... rather than spend that kind of money I would much rather do an external setup, but that's just me. Also it's not yet clear why you are getting surge... can you post a none incriminating video of your driving when the surge occurs... and how much fuel is in the car at the time?
  13. It didn't work very well, but I really wanted to be able to autox with a quarter tank of gas or less, which is probably unrealistic. I tried one of the metal ones as well... also with limited success... I then went to an external setup.
  14. Or use a plastic fuel tank around the pick up... I made one years ago from one of these. https://www.rchobbies.co.nz/results.html?q=fuel+tank
  15. You will notice a difference with a 22m whiteline bar. How do you drive out of understeer BTW?
  16. Just because I think a k-brace is useless, doesn't need I know of a better bolt on solution. I have used them in the past, and now don't bother, and it's makes no difference to how fast I can drive or how my car handles. Swaybars are a waste of time... and I don't even use springs or shocks in my car... just chuck them out and replace them with big blocks of wood. I'm even thinking about getting rid of my tyres... just don't see the point. Have a look at a picture of a cusco cage and them ask yourself why they are no good. Yes, I have the fastest Subaru in the world and I am the best driver in the world. THE WORLD. I am already rich from my knowledge of cars. I designed the McLaren P1. I already said that. Wow, don't you just sound intelligent tonight.
  17. I'm not hating on anyone. Gingwotzit is the one losing his S***. If there is a rule about expressing an opposing opinion on this forum, please point it out. Cusco know plenty of S*** about engineering... But that doesn't mean they can perform miracles by way of selling bolt ons that stiffen chassis. And if there is a market for something utterly useless they will sell utterly useless S***... Aka a bolt in roll cage.
  18. Do you think Cusco bolt in roll cages work as well? I mean, Cusco know their S*** right?
  19. Well Cusco and Ultra Racing and Subaru don't have to prove S***... they make expensive useless bolt on stuff and people just buy it bc they think it works and/or looks cool. I am open to being proven wrong. Show me some lap times with and without the braces by way of proof either way. Until then it's pure speculation. I don't notice any difference with or without braces and simply can't imagine how they could be effective without at least using some triangulation.
