I\'m gonna be getting a v7 sti short block from wingers and use my v3 sti heads but I\'m just not 100% on what gaskets I need.
I\'ve been told I only need
Head gaskets
Inlet gaskets
Rocker seals
Spark orings
Water rail orings
What is the best size head gasket to run and is there any other gaskets needed for the engine to be put together I have the exhaust gaskets
Any links that are useful would be great cheers Jordan
So I\'m planning on buying a v7sti short block and bolting my stock heads to it but I\'m unsure of what else I will need to make this work eg headgaskets, intake gaskets I\'m quite lost on what I need... Help plz
I\'ve checked the wiring as much as I can from under the car and it all looked fine, to check the wires going into the box at the top I\'d have to drop the box. I\'ve taken the roller out and cleaned that and checked the power going to it and they came up as..
Dccd voltages
1 0.02v rwd
2 1.02v
3 2.10v
4 2.68v
5 3.70v
6 4.97v lock
Also the pitch of the static noise changes as I roll up
So I\'ve read on another site that the hand break could be causing this so I went for a drive with the handbrake up one click so the car thinks it\'s on an the fuse did not blow.. Is that cause the c/diff is in a neutral position or dose that have something to do with the problem? Cause as soon as I dropped the handbreak the fuse blew
I just went and had a play round an cleaned the plug connection and I noticed that when I rolled it up towards lock that the static noise coming from my speakers wen there\'s no audio playing (aux) changed an now the fuse has blown again and the static sound has gone away. The radio is wired up using a harnes from the standard Subaru plug.
Could the dccd controller be earthing out something?
yea it is the factory fitted gearbox.
Ive looked for the flash code procedure but all ive been able to find is for the newer dccd and dosent work on the earlier models
so to check the voltage would i check that from behind the roller dial itself?
So I asked this a while ago but found that it was a fuse :-\ , but now it happening again but up fuse is fine. This is what\'s happening...
It works fine in full roll back but as soon as I roll it forward at all it goes into what I think is limp mode and flashes the bottom square green, the weird thing is that when I roll it back and turn the car on and off its working again but only in full roll back.
I\'ve looked on the net but its all about "auto mode" and abs fault but my car has neither of them... ???
Ive got a v4 sti type r and the dccd dash display is flashing the bottom square green,I have no control of the dccd also, is there any way to do a diagnostic flash code check as you can with the check engine light.
The car is NON ABS if that makes any difference, thanks ???
I'm looking at buying a v5 dccd gearbox for my v2 wrx but am unsure of what is involved with the install..
I no I will need the roller and ecu for it but what else would I need to no/do?? ???
I have a v7 STI engine and ecu in my car also..
Have already taken the filters out. And did a run with avcs solenoid unplugged so it has to do with the avcs somewhere. And a Subaru specialist said that it is quite common for the cam gears to fk out
My car went on the dyno today and was running mint and then the avcs cam gear has jamed into retarded position (so dyno tuner said).
What I wanna no if there is any way to recon the adjustable cam gears from a V7 STI engine? And if so what do I have to do
Thanks,
My mates v7 STI is playing up.. We have come to the conclusion that it is the neutral safety switch, he has call winger and they have to come out of Japan so...
Is there anyone out there who knows of any way to bypass the switch? Or no of any thing else that the problem could be, the car feels gutless up in the high rev range and dosnt boost correctly anymore...
Cheers, :
