  1. T-boned a taxi driver doing a u-turn on busy Customs street in Auckland (downtown Auckland, 9am... :-X) :-\
  2. Hey man what hoses did you use and does your car feel much faster? I used those sold on TM by Alltech Diesel & Turbocharger Ltd - I\'m not an expert but hoses looked decent to me, very good customer service too (thanks to Jason). Hell yeah, it\'s like twice as fast now ;D
  3. You\'re so right - easy to remove, pain in an arse to put the bloody thing back on. Did it yesterday - took me 3 hours and heaps of fff words, the result wasn\'t perfect (was all right, just not up to my standard) Redone it today, much faster - trimmed and realigned, plus replaced a TMIC to throttle body pipe with a silicone as well. Am happy now 8) Cheers everyone for your advice - very helpful!
  4. From the US, they\'re bloody expensive, pretty much the same price as you\'d pay for a set of 2pots.
  5. 4pots - straight on 2pots - you\'ll need some adaptorts, i.e from kartboy Put 4pots on my legacy last week
  6. Cheers guys! Ok.... Now.. what\'s a proper way of attacking an intercooler?
  7. Planning to do a replacement on mine too, any tips/instructions on how to get it done? Cheers
  8. People call those f1.8 lenses "plastic fantastic" - amazing thing for it's price (especially if you can score yourself an MK I version of it), honestly. Had one of those, only sold to upgrade to f1.4. My current set-up is: Canon 7D + battery grip 50mm f1.4 60mm f2.8 macro 17-40 f4L 70-200 f2.8IS L x2 extender 430II + Fong's lightsphere Manfrotto tripod+monopod Not much into car's photography though... yet
  9. Checked mine after all these heavy rains lately - completely dry 8)
  10. Went to a workshop this morning. Battery - ok, alternator- 13.9v :-\
  11. Sure I will, any trusted places around Central Auckland? PS: thanks for taking your time to answer all my dumb questions guys! ;D
  12. Yep that's the next thing we're planning to do. I still think it's the battery and I am not sure if that salesman actually tested the battery under load - he didn't seem to be very enthusiastic
  13. Ok. Went to Segedins on Dominion Rd - they're Supercharge retailer. They have MF52 (CCA600, RC105) for $142+GST. Asked a sp to test my battery - green colour, the battery is alive :-\ though it's from 2007 (found a sticker on it). Bosch S3 is $127 installed but it's only CCA300. Half an hour prior to going to the shop played with this thing for a few minutes, a few open-close rounds - the car just started, one more "open-close" and it probably wouldn't start at all. A few weeks ago I was replacing a pollen/cabin filter - cabin lights on for maybe half an hour 45 min max, music off, aircon on for max 10 min - had to jump start the car after that, just wouldn't start at all. If the battery is still OK what else could it be? I assume replacing my current battery simply won't cure the issue (or it would?) After browsing the forum my understanding is that something sucking juices from the battery (an alarm, a stereo or lots of other possible things) and that it's pretty hard to eliminate that bloody "sucking juices something". :-\ Especially without any appropriate knowledge.
  14. Yep I'm in Auckland, just googled their website, $45 for a small battery. Now my question: how long would a recond battery last for? I mean if it only lasts for a year then I'd rather spend $150 on a new one with 3 years warranty ??? Cheers for the advice hate-evoz!
  15. Up this topic! Had same issues with a leaking garnish - first thought it'd been leaking because of a few cracks in it, replaced with an undamaged one, started leaking even more. Bought 300g (only used half of it) of Selleys Windscreen Sealant and used above method. Plus sealed top edge of the garnish - pretty big gap between two plastic bits, no wonder water was getting inside, on top of it, once installed back, filled a groove between the garnish and the rear window surrounding with some sealant - it's black and the grove is deep no way anyone would notice it. Highlighted in blue where I put the sealant (plus under those black thingies on the garnish itself) No water in the rear hatch since that, no blown bulbs. Cost: $17, time spent: 1 hour.
  16. Cheers, just cannot justify spending $350 for a battery - need something basic and want to get the best value for money spent.
  17. Hi everyone! My first post here (though have been reading you for a while :). I am planning to replace my battery (AA one, don't know how old it is, something around CCA500). Went flat a few times already :-X :-\ Have been thinking about getting an SuperCharge Gold MF40B20L. Would like to hear your advice/suggestions. Legacy BH5, stock standard, have an amp installed. I'm in Auckland, where would be the best place($$) to buy one from? Cheers!
