  1. Nice! I can\'t believe I see every day lots of Subaru\'s here and not many Clubs for this machines. Which Subi do you have?
  2. Is there anyone around Queenstown area? So many Subarus here and no one join us? It would be great to have activities and meet more Subaru fans
  3. And I was already there yesterday =( So, what\'s up here guys!?
  4. I would like.. but I work on Sunday. Probably will be free around 4pm... too late?
  5. I\'m keen ;D... we can do some pics of our cars!
  6. That\'s good dude... we should organize something here. I have a friend from Wanaka who has a couple of Subaru, maybe he keen to come here as well
  7. I live here, so anyone who\'s coming can contact me and catch up! ;D
  8. Shame, I live in Queenstown and Dunedin its a bit far just to meet there... any chance to make a road trip or do something more?
  9. My previous Lancaster had 114.000kms and got a "new" engine that it had 70.000kms but started with the same knocking noise and I changed for my actual Outback LL Bean Edition... this one has now 118.700kms (more than 2.000kms done it since I bought it.
  10. Answering the question I should say... getting a new engine today? ???
  11. I\'d like to, but my car is going to the garage tomorrow for a knocking sound from engine (under warranty) so don\'t know how long will take that. Are you going?
  12. Thanks for all your comments guys... now my brother is looking some other options in Chch, and if does ones doesn\'t convince him I\'ll see this Forester but taken it to a garage to make a good inspection. Cheers!
  13. Hey that\'s very good! With my ex GTB I was doing 450 in the open roads. Yours is manual or auto?? And also, this ones how is rear diff? LSD or is just the central one LSD? Where are you btw? I\'m thinking maybe go there Monday so some extra help to see the car will be good (or even better if somebody there can go and see the car before I go there)
  14. Hi guys, how\'s is everybody? ;D My brother after someone (old guy) in Chch crashed his Legacy the insurance is giving him money instead fix his car... so looking on Trademe for a Subaru in good conditions, normal kms, and under 3k I found this Subaru Forester in Invercargil (http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/forester/auction-553972650.htm) First of all, I know some ones have here Forester Turbo, so wondering how is the petrol consume driving the car normally (in the city and in open roads)... I had time ago a Legacy GTB and it was a bit thirsty (like me LOL) but it was twin turbo, so this ones are better than the twin turbo Legacy?? (in consume I mean).. My brother\'s car is a 1993 Legacy TX-S auto, and is doing like 11km/L in open roads and near (less) 8km/L driving in Chch so if the Forester Turbo is not that different is anybody in Invercargill who can go and see this Forester? I contacted this guy and he doesn\'t know when was the cambelt been done but says the car is in good conditions, and my brother is not looking for a tuned car and this one looks quite standard (no modifications). Maybe I can fo also monday or tuesday next week so I\'d like also if someone can come with me to see the car. Does anyone know where we can inspect the car also?? Any help and info about this kind of cars I\'ll appreciate it! Thanks!
  15. Yeah, I always use the dual to start in a hill now, feel goes better my clutch
  16. Thanks mate for that. Don\'t know if its important to know, but my car has dual range and as far as I know Turbo models doesn\'t have dual range, so it would be ok any way the turbo clutch one?
  17. Thanks for that info, so does the turbo clutch fit and work better in the Lancaster?. I\'d keep it in mind your offer dude, coz at the moment I\'m not interested to change it, still working good and I don\'t have the money for it. This mechanic just gave me a quote to have an idea thinking in the moment that I\'ll have to replace it. So after read on Internet and what you say seems that the dual mass is just problems haha... about the smell, that\'s normal? I mean doesn\'t smell every time or in a single hill, but starting the car in a steep hill from parked its very normal in my car to smell the clutch. And also when I went to Milford sound, in the way back when you drive many kms up hill I could smell it as well, but doesn\'t spin at the moment or shake, or do something wrong... so I hope can survive some thousands of kms more before replace it. Btw you are in Chch?? You have a garage? I\'ll be in Chch for xmas so maybe you can see it there. Thanks!
  18. Hi guys, I have a Subaru Lancaster 2001 (2002 facelift) with 109.000kms, my clutch is working good, but at the minimum effort in a hill start to smell, but doesn\'t spin, doesn\'t make funny noises or smoke; its just the smell. Because Spanish is my first language I\'ve been checking in some forums about clutch problems, and in many sites I read people getting problems with very low kms in the Subaru Outback because of the dual mass. Most of them where latest model (IV gen - 2004 - 2009) so I\'m not sure about the clutch that has my Lancaster (I suppose its the same, dual mass). So after reading a long list of problems I\'m a bit afraid and trying to use my clutch very carefully and smooth after been smelling my clutch in the situations I said before. My question is... is that smell "normal" with this kind of clutch? Its it that expensive as I read on Internet to replace the clutch?. Because I went to a mechanic here in Qtwn (when I didn\'t know how to call it in english this dual mass) and he told me could be around $800 (that is less money than other countries where they quote for a dual mass repair) so I\'m not sure which info is correct, and if that price could be for standard flywheel instead dual mass. And my last question, which one will be better to fit in my Lancaster, continue with dual mass or put the standard one? I read some people in Spain put after the problems the standard one and works great getting more kms with that one, but is not an original Subaru clutch of course. I\'m a bit lost with this clutch topic, so if some one can help me, and explain me I\'ll really appreciate. Thanks again.

    Wheels and offset

Look here http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f72/subaru-oem-wheels-fit-forester-19106/ ... all the rims for Outback and Forester has 48mm offset, and all Legacy and Impreza 55mm... just STi models has 53mm, so even going with some GTB (I know are pretty hot haha) it will be 55mm offset :-\ I\'m not sure if its a good idea or not.. ???

    Wheels and offset

Hi guys, I\'m thinking to change the look of my Lancaster and I was considering something like this Found in other forum this ones has 55mm offset, and my Lancaster has 48mm... so, that means if I put that one will be more "outside"?? Will affect in something?... does anybody here have this kind of wheels in a Forester or Outback?? How it look like?? I like the design of this ones, but not sure if I\'d like how will look on my car with that offset.
  21. My brothers Legacy TX-S had the same problem, just on long trips lose water, with exactly same symptoms. The car had in that moment new water pump, so he started to use some products to "seal" the radiator... and yeah, worked good... but after a while he had to put it again before a long trip so he went to a mechanic and the problem was the radiator was blocked in near 80% (was not a good idea to use those products on it). Now, after the service to the radiator is working great, no leaks no water loss. I also had the same problem with the GT-B I had before my Lancaster and was fixed in the same way... try to check it
  22. Cool, I\'ll see those on Internet too. Cheers.
  23. Thanks for that, how many kms have you done with those Radial and how they are now?
