Hello again So another question for you subaru genious\'s out there. I\'ve noticed when I open up the ol girl on the road, as soon as I hit 4k revs, the car feels, I dunno how to describe it, laggy? She pulls fairly hard up the rev range until I hit 4k then blah, the powers gone and she doesnt like going past the 4k and it doesn\'t matter what gear I\'m in, it always feels "weak" at 4 k. I hope that all makes sense. Should I be concerned or would this be a tuning thing? I dont drive like a hoon.... I just like to see how quickly I can get to 100kph lol

Sooooo I was casually driving home in the rain last night and it got me thinking. The rain was so heavy I couldn\'t see about 10-15 meters ahead of me. Should I be concerned about the amount of water that could of potentially got into the engine bay via the bonnet scoop? I\'m sure the Subaru engineers took it into consideration when they designed the car, was just curious is all

So... am I correct in assuming that living in queenstown where its been getting below zero in winter and then going way up into the high 20\'s in summer, I\'d need to change the types of oil im using as the seasons change?

My bad. What I meant was, if I bought one of these TT intercooler kits from scales or a similar company, could it adversely affect a couple of already old factory turbos ?

Will a after market twin turbo kit extend the life of a couple of old turbos or put more strain on them? My car is a 94 RS Legacy and as far as I know, the turbos are standard. Or would I just be better off upgrading the exsisting ones first? Cheers

My bad. I have a 94 legacy sedan with phat STI stickers haha. I don\'t think she\'s seen any off road action. May have to take the bumper off to go anywhere that\'s not Tarmac but that\'s all good. So I\'ve been browsing a few threads and I noticed a lot of talk about remapping the ecu for different octane gas. This got me thinking about my car naturally. When I brought it, I was told it was tuned for 98. I have no idea if it is or not but I have noticed that over the last 6 weeks or so of running on 95 ( the best I could find in Queenstown ) that the ol girls starting to run lil on the rough side ie slight lack of power on the higher end of the rev range, has developed a slight knocking sound when it\'s cold and just general responsiveness has gone down. Could this be a petrol vs ecu problem or something else? And would finding someone to "remap the ecu for 95" be beneficial?. The cars goin in for a full service ( engine oil, axle, diff oils etc etc) in a couple of weeks anyway so maybe that\'ll make a difference. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Cheers

Oh right, I think I might be experiencing the same problem then, almost to the T actually, previous owner ran it on 98 and the highest octane I\'ve found in queenstown is 95. I\'ve had the car for little over a month and a light knocking sound has developed. Could I be experiencing the same thing? pertrol related? or could it be somethin else? Sorry if this interrupts the thread

95ish wrx? Could always buy one later down the line I suppose, or just drop a later model motor in a few years down the track. Either way getting the big power is a fair way down the track so I'm just thinking about adding some tasteful mods that sort of head in that street driven "track-car" direction as oppose to"drift" or "rally" and "drag" racing applications.

Oh, I mean in the past I've seen people go for power of stability so they go with the turbo mods and engine swap while they neglect areas like suspension etc
