  1. Wouldn't be wheel weights. Wheels unballanced generally shakes more the faster you go, not just when going slow.
  2. Noise alone for the cvt would drive me insane. Having the revs changing with no real correlation to acceleration or speed is just a strange feeling. Not my cup of tea atleast.
  3. Unrelated but everyone who's a member over on sl-i chuck your votes in for sobanoodle for the ride of the month. Get a kiwi to steal the show for once
  4. Come up to the aux one this weekend. I should be there hopefully
  5. Luckily i only have to waste 3 weeks of my life there, this year atleast Would have been worried with the last one but i don't think the newer legacy's have the same street appeal to the scum out there the older ones did.
  6. Yea i knew the mcintosh was optional, but an option hardly ever left off it seems. And yea you're right about si drive but i'm sure the bilsteins were spec b only as standard, suspension seemed to be the major selling point for the spec b
  7. You thinking of getting one sweed? Heaps really. If JDM then the non spec b has; 5 speed gearbox, no r180 rear diff Different bumpers Non mcintosh stereo No Si drive Non bilstein shocks Only single avcs 2.0l engine (according to my mechanic at least) Different rims Don't think they have the same rear tints, could be wrong though. The couple I looked at didn't have it. That's for wagons though so not sure of sedans. Probably more but that's all I can think of right now
  8. And stop tempting me with those Kai's. This cars already taken enough of my money! While I'm at it though, what wheel size rubber did you have to go to not rub on the 8.5's?
  9. Looking good. Need a lip like that super bad. I'd always just assumed you had a gt soba
  10. You need the slightly arched rear wiper. Any of those modern slim replacement wipers won't work with it.
  11. That's weird they gave the 3.0r 6 speed and not the gt
  12. Not very clued up on the pre facelift 3.0r's but just thought that since the gt spec b's of that age didn't get 6 speed then the 3.0's wouldn't either. Looking at that other listing you'd think 6 speed was abailable then, strange the gt's didn't get it. That was the only reason i never even considered the older gts as i didn't want the 5 speed. Radio is just the standard one. Most spec b ones had a mcintosh one with more speakers. Have seen a couple without though so doesn't really mean much. Easiest way is off the vin plate or look at the shocks since most people wouldn't bother changing those. Will be billstein yellow ones if its the spec b
  13. If it wasn't a spec b wouldn't the stock rims have been 17" aswell. Looking at the radio you wouldn't say it was. Though it does have a 6 speed which i didnt't even know they did for pre facelifts. To many different options to say without more info. The pre facelift 18" ones always look good and seem to pop up on here quite often too. You can get the badges off japanparts. Wouldn't be too fussed though. My gt spec b only has the legacy badge on the back There you go. $50 shipped to your door https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/2993
  14. Definitely sounds like cv's mine did it when the boot tore and lost all its grease. But in saying that it's pretty unlikely all cv's would be worn so you would get a feeling of where it's coming from. Same with wheel balance being off. If it's an all around vibration that occurs only at high speeds with high load wouldn't you say it's more engine/ drivetrain related. All the other things would have an almost noticeable are where it's coming from. Best way to check whether a manual is slipping is at high speed with high load, what you're basically doing. so couldn't it be one of the magical pieces inside the auto box isn't keeping up under load causing this. Clutch pack? Know nothing about auto's btw
  15. True. Never really spent much time looking into the workings of honda's before. So subaru's avls in NA cars is similar to vtec and modern I-vtec is pretty much avls and avcs both used together.
  16. Finally got the audio setup running. Lots of tweaking to be done but sounds good so far
  17. Well it worked whilst stationary, haven't tried while moving yet though. Didn't get anything yet, was cutting it pretty close fund wise as it was. So sometime in the next month or so I'll get the axxess aswc-1. Seems to be the most popular choice. And maybe a rear camera at the same time.
  18. Mint. Was reading some peoples comments saying it needed relays and stuff to bypass it which seemed odd but wasn't sure
  19. Anyone know what wite to hook into for the parking brake for a headunit install. Manual says it has to be on the power supply side. Looking at the handbrake there seems to only be the one white wire attached to the spring setup so it knows when its down. Is this the wire that should be used or is there another one?
  20. 2.5's obviously have the heavily disputed weakish piston rings but shouldn't be an issue if kept stock. They would have a bit more torque downlow compared to the 2.0's but lose the intake and exhaust variable cams (think vtec) and have just one, intake i think. My 2.0 gets closer to 500km these days. Jap imports are never as well looked after so factor that in aswell
  21. They all have fuel rails. If they don't have split rails then the last cylinder can get a fuel shortage under high loads. Basically in stock form think of it as one big loop going to the cylinders one after the other so if the fuel pressure isn't keeping up then the last one in the line will get low. The split rail mod splits the flow into two paths left and right heads each get a dedicated line. And in general keeps things more even between each cylinder. Haven't done it myself so my knowledge is purely from reading others experiences so someone who has physically done it themselves will probably do a better job explaining it. Beat me to it adikt. Also if car is stock, as you say its the first mod you're thinking about, i wouldn't really say its needed. People only seem to do it on medium to large power builds
  22. Yea non of those ones have worked since the update
