  1. Castrol Syntrax. To the best of my knowledge, it's what the cars are serviced with, and I've never had any issues with it being in my DCCD 5 speed or my S204 box.
  2. You may have some more luck with the UK sites, but definitely interesting what you're doing. When you say V9, do you mean Hawkeye or the mechanically revised blob eye? The issue I believe you'll be having is down to the difference between pinouts for sure. Interesting that the Fuel pump relay runs through the dash. Doesn't make sense as to why it'd do that.
  3. I believe you'll find that the VF48 is a single scroll turbo my friend
  4. I did literally just buy a set of good condition Twinscroll STi headers for $300 shipped >.> Soooooooo
  5. Sounds like someone finally made a product that works like ECUTEK. For those whom don't know. ECUTEK is able to tune the older legacys too, but their licenses are freaking stupid expensive. This looks like a real nice option.
  6. So, I've been tinkering with my Legacy a lot for the last couple weeks I've replaced front and rear shocks as the originals were poked. Replaced the Brake rotors and pads on all four corners Fixed the Stereo wiring issues. Fixed the trims around the car. Replaced the ignition barrel Wheel alignment Oil change for gearbox and engine Got it tuned by @Pappu1 Unfortunately, and quite frustratingly, there's a lot of knock with my engine during tuning. Not really conducive. What I do know that's an issue is this. There is a boost leak, I can hear it under WOT, and I know for a fact it's causing over fueling. Cold start up fuel smell. Typical of this MY Legacy. Looks like I'll be pulling the intake manifold off this car and replacing all the fuel line hoses, and any VAC hoses / problematic boost hoses. Could also be a blown out manifold gasket, but I've not heard of that before tbh. Part of me wants this thing to blow a turbo so I can put a single turbo setup on it, but the other part of me loves a good twin setup and wants to make this work. Just god damn the amount of VAC hoses in this thing is F*cking nightmare

  8. I'm 100% with boon on this. You're pulling the tyre out of its strengthened form. Just because there's more 'meat' around the tyre, doesn't mean there's going to be more roll. Why do you think race cars actually have a rather larger sidewall. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  9. /me sighs. Bloody typical LOL Replaced the power steering pump, which was still broken but wasn't the thing causing all the noise it turns out. It was the Alternator. Good lawdy lol. In any case, I'm still getting to the track this weekend. Even if it means stealing the alternator from the legacy while I'm at the track. LOL
  10. Yeah it's been up for after coromandel rally and Jason flew up Thursday I believe to grab the truck and his new toy and drove to hams. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  11. Haha I wish because the car would've been done ages ago. He was only up over the weekend for a rally. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  12. Haha I had things on on Sunday so no mas. Yeah power steering pump is a piece of cake realistically. Got a replacement pump on the way and will swap it tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  13. So, flatnats for me was... Expensive... And I didn't even get to go lol Bit of a rant ahead. Wednesday, phenolic spacers into the RA. Took a half day on Thursday. Drove the RA down to Hamilton and met up with@gotasuby for a road tune on the old girl. Safe to say, it definitely is a Ej205. But its now quicker than ever! Flex fuel, two stage launch control, boost by gear, all the good stuff.. Bring in Friday! Up on stands, go to remove the wheels, last wheel, last nut...why is this spline nut different to the others... Can't find the correct spin drive or a socket of metric or imperial size that will fit... Decide to do something else productive in the meantime. Fix the bushes for drive shaft onto RA. one of the new bushes I bought have gone missing... Just an FYI, the pilot bearing for your clutch fits perfectly and is the right size Absolutely need wheel off car... Become a brute, bash on a 16mm socket I no longer need and remove. New set of wheel nuts it is. Drop wheels off to Bridgestone, to get Hankook slicks put on. Take friends car to get windscreen fixed. They said 30mins. It was not 30mins.... Much longer.. Go pick up tyres, pick up car trailer..hmm legacy is too low... And rear shocks are coozed... I haz spares! Put wheels on RA to move it so I have flat space to do legacy shocks... Strips out a stud on hub... But I haz spares! Replaces all the studs on rear right wheel. While my Mrs sos messages @94 Leone for a 'plz. Drew needs halp' Harley arrives and does legacy suspension on driveway in 25mins. I fix alternator tensioner with new bolt so it'd stay in place. Fix small coolant leak from water pump hoses. Do heatshielding. No longer cook things. Yeah good. 8pm.. Am done... Cars finished and tidied up, has new fluids, heatshielding, new wheel studs, slicks, tune, phenolic spacers, new suspension in legacy so it doesn't drag its ass all the way to pukekohe. Start car. Heinous noise from power steering pump. It's coozed.. I haz no spares... Throwsinthetowel.jpg Sometimes things just don't go right and the stars don't align. Sorry to those who I said I'd be there. Things just didn't want to work out. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  14. So, what do you think would be a sensible option for things to do on your car, just a week out from getting it tuned? Pull the dash out obviously! To be fair, it was sorely needed. So much old wiring. I also fixed my central locking at the same time. Not bad for a couple hours of work. Now... Time to put that dash back in, change all the exhaust manifold gaskets, put in my 10mm phenolic spacers and find other things I can break. Good times. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  15. You can always get a crank nitrated bud seriously. Costs about $150-180 my center thrust crank is nitrated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So pretty basic but I went and got new tyres for the legacy as it was desperately needed. Basically haven’t driven it all winter because of them obviously and just replaced them now. But that alignment. Christ no wonder that thing felt sketchy all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m planning on going to both events. I’ll be trailering my RA and towing it with my legacy, so could take yah round Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Personal opinion, but I'd buy Dixcel over DBA. More consistency and better wear over time. Also REALLY good on the track.
  19. Best thing to do is match at all times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Where'd you find that? I've searched for it but can't find anything like a press release
  21. So a follow up to this, have you guys been able to discern any difference between using a 98 mix ethanol and 100 octane with ethanol? opinion? Also, what are the prices like down there (actual figure if you've got one)
  22. Yes, but you WILL need adjustable suspension to suit the BC5 that have a lower clevis that suits the front hubs wider mounting point. That is a non-negotiable. aka BC5 struts, and V9/10 STi lower clevis. There are drive shafts that fit, I don't know exactly which one. @RaKid Knows as he's done it recently. Yes, you can do this.
  23. I don’t mean to sound like a prick, but a headshop or shop that’s doing heads and don’t know or can’t find the clearances for said heads, probably shouldn’t be doing the job... instead of asking the customer for answers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Genuinely hope you find the car dude. People who steal others stuff are maggots.
