  1. For reference I got my Focals from Jonvy82: http://www.jonvy.co.nz/index.php?route=product/product&manufacturer_id=38&product_id=3934 Great sounding speaker for the price but yes they require a MDF spacer to be made up - doesn't take long with a jigsaw.
  2. These are the focals I got, for reference: http://www.jonvy.co.nz/index.php?route=product/product&path=58_277&product_id=3934 Great sound for the price.
  3. Best bet is to make up some spacers out of MDF. I have focal 6.5" in my front doors and they would not fit in the factory spacer mount due to the speaker bucket being too wide. Some 6.5"s may fit in the factory spacer if you chop out the back of them.
  4. I should rephrase what I said. Instead of saying that's wrong I should have said that's misleading. The GT makes a ****load more through the midrange making it a somewhat faster car. Also given a downpipe and intercooler you will be knocking on the door of 200kw with a GT.
  5. That's totally wrong, a GT tuned has much higher peak power.
  6. Yep factory cars are tuned for many things. Including emissions, drive-ability, saftey, longevity etc etc. The design team will have a specific set of targets to achieve. Drive-ability might be improved at the detriment of outright performance. Safety and emissions may hurt both...
  7. PM me your email and I will send you the hex/xml files I have. Might be the same, might be different.
  8. What file format is the def stored in? I have a few files lying around with A4SH701H on them. Mine is that number and Raijin could read/edit it no worries.
  9. Hose 10 Gut/remove the cats Exhaust Boost tap perhaps FMIC perhaps.
  10. That video makes me miss my 3.0RB
  11. I used to have a BP5 stock auto and BLE 6 Speed w intake and adjustable suspension and a I currently have a BE5D full bolt ons and tune. The TT is the fastest of the 3 that I have had but the 3.0R handled better and was by far an overall better car. I can tell you these things: The BL/BP legacy is far superior to the BE/BH, like no contest at all The BL/BP turbo is the most powerful and torquey of the 3 The H6 is the smoothest and has the best gearbox A modded BL/BP turbo would blow away any other model Modding the TT is a waste of time If I had to have one again it would be a BP5 turbo manual with downpipe, FMIC and tune.
  12. 170kw is really quite good for these motors. The problem with modding the 3.0R is the bang for buck is relatively poor. I'd say go tune only and leave it at that, no point with much else for the $$$.
  13. I think the overall price is a little on the high side but not too crazy. I had my cambelt/waterpump done and fixed a couple of little things and that cost $1800. You got rocker seals, sparks, oil, wof and about 5 hours more labour over what I paid.
  14. Which makes me think I have an issue there somewhere as boost on primary is very sluggish but secondary is fine, and with #2 disconnected primary boost is ridiculously high.
  15. I sold my 04 Auto with 175k on it for 5 grand last year
  16. Not sure on duty @ 20psi. Boost cut is something like 25psi on the tune I have. Have hit it a few times in 4th gear full load. Stupid boost controller does whatever the hell it likes, totally disappointed with it. Primary boost level is messed up at the moment as well. Got the feeling something isn't right with the crossover as it will boost 20+ when disconnecting hose 2(?).
  17. I owned both a Manual BLE and an auto BP5 at the same time and performance was roughly the same. The turbo has more torque through the mid range. Both used about the same in gas as well. Both about as reliable as each other to be fair. The 3.0 was fun enough but on the whole not that fast. Turbo manual tuned FTW.
  18. It will be the wrong process I reckon. I tried for hours to read mine and couldn't get anything. Raijin plugged in and his standard methods didn't work so he rigged up some sort of read/write switch and some other trickery and was able to get in then, took him about 10 minutes lol! Sadly I don't know what his mystery tricks are Legnum would be a lot faster, if you put up with the ticking heads
  19. I have: Blitz Pod filter Upgraded turbo-intercooler pipes Vac lines replaced Hose 1 restrictor Rage downpipes, y pipe FGK high flow cat, centre and muffler Gizzmo IBCR boost controller (fails hard, should have kept the factory boost control) Raijin Tune This makes me 200wkw at around 20psi. Lots o suspension mods as well.
  20. checked the filters in the banjo fittings on the avcs feeds? Pretty common problem.
  21. Yerp, E55 in the house. Makes driving the Legacy to work and back a bit of a chore
  22. New car has 265 Falken 914s on it and so far they have been surprisingly sticky despite having to put down 700NM of torque
  23. Yeah I'd say don't go too crazy on it - otherwise you will have spent the money you could have bought a turbo with
