  2. Hi - don\'t think they are - I have an RX AWD box waiting to swap for the right EA82 type box so cant check until the swap. As far as I can gather there is no difference - many opinions differ about the rest needed - I know linkages need modifying and possibly shorter gear lever and either changing or modifying the trans mount. Minor electrical change and the rest is as required - driveshaft/diff ratio??? To really answer you question I don\'t know for sure but doubt its an issue, they are virtually the same year and running gear. The Borg may know but you might be assimilated. They are exchanging my RX with the EA so I already have nanoprobes and am off to recharge. 7 of nine will be home soon.
  3. Thanks for the info and feckety feck. The one I have been sent has a big vacuum pot sticking out the side so must be an AWD. I don\'t mind except I assume this changes all the diff ratios and running AWD of an EA81 will run like pig fan cookies. I don\'t care about performance but the whole exercise was to get fifth gear. Looks like I have an anchor unless anyone local wants to swap for a standard 4WD five speed. (T81G or 5MT?)
  4. ??? How can you tell what type of gearbox without the vehicle/engine. The GB has a serial number 824511 but need to know what type eg. 5MT...
