Na mate, its off a Version 2 Type RA. If you look closely, you'll see it has a 5th injector on the top. It didn't need an Idle Control Valve as it had a Link ECU.

Qwerty - I agree. Ask her if it has intercooler waterspray kit and DCCD. I'm almost 100% sure Type R's are from Version 3 to 6.

You do get STI Type R's with a roof vent. They're a STI Type R V-Ltd... They're 22B replica bonnet vents. It also has a Version 5 to 6 front bumper, version 6 wing, version 4 - 6 interior. I think its a genuine Version 4 STi Type R V-Ltd. Those two REX's look great fdpsti, but they must bump and scrape on every road...! Surely they're not driven like that... ??? Must bounce all over the road, when I see one of them coming towards me I'll be sure to move off the road!

Definatly pay a little extra and get the second - which is clearly an original Version 2 STI RA. It has less than 100 000km's too! I have had three Subaru's and I finally own a Version 3 STI RA which I never want to sell...! It was well worth the little extra $$$. Here's a pic of mine.

I don't think it would be the 02 sensor, but anything is possible... I just replaced mine after a constant miss and its perfect now.... Does any smoke come out of the exhaust when it basically cuts out...? I had a similar problem with my last WRX, but black smoke poured out of the exhaust! I'd turn it off and back on and it was good again! That turned out to be my Air Flow Meter...! Good luck mate, I know how you feel, I have endless problems too!
