  1. I know of someone that had a STI Type R painted there and the job was absolutely terrible! I definitely wouldn't go to them for mechanical work. Timing belt usually costs around $1200 including water pump, idlers etc... I'd definitely go with original parts.
  2. Hey guys, My 2001 EJ25 - BH9 Legacy's started motor started playing up yesterday and with limited options I decided to get one out of a car at Pickapart which was also a EJ25 - BH9 but pre facelift so I'm guessing 99ish. I just pulled mine out to replace it but noticed they're different... Does anyone know for sure if they're compatible? I have the replacement one bolted in so it definitely fits but am a bit nervous to turn it over... Thanks Current starter motor code etc: Replacement starter motor code: Current spline (shorter): Replacement spline (longer): Both splines protrude approximately 30mm: Replacement one is a bit longer:
  3. Hey guys, Does anyone know for sure if BP5 Suspension will fit into a BH5? They look similar to me but would like to know before I buy a set. Brake line mounts may differ? Height the same? Thanks BH5 BP5
  4. Add some photo's. There's a WRX Type R V-Limited version (non-STI 2 door) but it has a roof vent and blue seats.
  5. Nice tidy looking RA Dairusire! Some updated pics of mine from over the wkend.
  6. Finally got around to fitting the CE28's on the RA.
  7. Nice Zenki! Washed the Type R followed by the RA and a drive of each. Nice sunny winters day.
  8. Interesting... Wander if this will be carried out in NZ? http://subaru.co.uk/news/subaru-recall-notice-impreza-models-2004-2007/
  9. Oh, didn't realise that was you... haha. Still have my original spring but don't really want to get rid of them... Pity, I just threw a set of V3 STI spring away a couple of weeks ago! Here's an old pic which doesn't really show the height too well but don't have older pics on me (at work) will have to send a pic later on.
  10. You could just remove the rear transfer case (including centre diff) and bolt that onto the other box. No stripping etc required. Just a nice easy swap.
  11. I put a set of V7 STI shocks into my GC8 and it was way too high so length / height is definitely different - lowering springs may help. I fitted a set of red STI mud flaps and told everyone it was my gravel spec setup. haha. You can see the large gap in this pic: V7 brake line clamps are different too - I ended up fabricating some for a WOF. V7 Strut next to a GC8 strut. You can see the blue brake line clamp I made on the V7 strut.
  12. I just swapped the tuned length headers that came on my car with a set of OEM and didn't notice much difference at all to be honest. If anything OEM have better low down response and a bit less up top.
  13. Thanks guys, appreciate your input. I'll definitely pass on this one as I want either a G3 or a G4.
  14. Hey guys, I've been offered a V7 link G3, but the guy selling is not certain its a G3... Is there any way of telling? I have an old Possum Link in my V5 and it clearly states what it is on the board, however the one in question does not... After Googling Link G3 I found an image which looks identical, but I'd like to be sure before buying. Would appreciate any input. Here's a photo I got off Google. If it looks identical to this one, is it safe to assume its a G3? Mates G4 clearly labelled - I know the one in question is not a G4 Possum Link in my V5 Thanks
  15. Good luck man, they're hard to find and not cheap when you do... I fitted a set to my RA and it passes VTNZ WOF's without an issue. Think they only need to be certed if they're adjustable?
  16. Nice! Did you lock the centre diff? I'm sure it would make a huge difference in those conditions?
  17. Damn... Don't have a 3/8" set but may be able to borrow one from a mate. Thanks for getting back to me. Appreciate it man.
  18. Hey guys, Noticed my headers are leaking (slightly) so want to pull them off to replace the gaskets. - Has anyone fitted / removed extractors to an EJ20 (with engine in car)? - How easy are they to remove? - Bolts seem to be obstructed. - Don't need to remove engine to get them off do I...? Mine are SSI single scroll headers. Thanks
  19. Haha... evowrx - this was for a mate. I only have 3 cars at the moment. Optical thanks, appreciate it. Mate did the swap last week and all worked out, so you're absolutely right.
  20. Hey Guys, I have a mate that just bought a BC5 and it has a worn front LH wheel bearing so he's going to swap the hub instead of having to press bearing in / out etc... Does anyone know for certain if a BD5 hub will bolt straight into a BC5? I'm 90% sure they're interchangeable, but don't want to say yes only to find it won't fit... Cheers
  21. Thanks D1Style, appreciate it. I'll get in touch with them. I'm not planning on registering the vehicle so hope this makes things a little easier...
  22. Thanks Percy, appreciate it man. I'm not going to register the vehicle, so hope this makes things a little easier...
