  1. I used to have one of those exact cages in my RA, however sold it once I realised it can't be certed in NZ due to the front section going around the dash (opposed to through or straight down) and the rear section due to the bars following the shape of the roof. The rear bars need to be straight down to the strut towers. You could modify it, but probably better off buying the correct spec'd cage. I know the bars are available separately, so may be able to replace a couple with them? The cage in the auction is missing a front roof bar (its not pictured) The cage I had bolted into my RA: Additional bars available: http://www.tunershop.fr/tunershop/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/149/products_id/10907 I recently bought one for my Type R and had to cut the front section off (mounts) due to dash bars. The rear half is pretty much what a sedan cage has to look like (centre cross bar may not be required)
  2. What year / model do you have? EJ20’s have fuel rails like these (injectors are red bits sticking out). 4th cylinder often has issues, so people tend to split the fuel lines like this: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1909985 Good luck
  3. Really sorry to hear man! Hopefully they manage to find it before it gets stripped etc...
  4. Dtech = excellent work. They swapped the entire wiring loom on an engine conversion I did. CDM tuned my V3 STI RA, but regret not taking it to Dtech as CDM didn't want to know about the issues after the tune etc was complete...
  5. Yes, had a light skim done. Cheers [quote name='Joker said: sounds like you might need to take a look, but yea I'm with loner on that, new clutch might be needednothing worng with exceedy , that click you heard worries me more than the brand (onto my 2nd exceedy myself in 10 years of owning my GTB over 100 000 kays on one clutch Me too initially, until I tried the clutch and it seemed fine. Something must have been wrong as I've done a few clutches and never heard the click before... Great, GB out again... Must be time for a 6 speed. May have (x2) V3 STI RA DCCD boxes for sale towards the middle of next year.
  6. Really...? If that's the case, I certainly won't be using another Exedy clutch! Never had any issues in the past... Its done less than 3 000km's. I drive the car pretty hard as its my wkend car. Will inspect the clutch master cylinder this wkend.
  7. Hey guys, I swapped the gearbox in my car a few months ago and fitted a brand new Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch at the same time. During the gearbox fitment I noticed a loud click when applying pressure to the clutch pedal, which only happened once so didn’t think too much of it as the clutch operated fine afterwards. While driving the car the other day I noticed what seems to be the clutch slipping and a burning smell…! The revs climb very fast and then settle back down high up in the rev range. This only occurs when I floor it, no issue at all when just cruising. I initially thought it was fluid related, but all seems in order apart from the fact that I no longer have a clutch fluid heat-shield due to relocating and fitting a V7 reservoir (to clear intercooler). Recently bought some heat shield material from Repco to make one. Has anyone experienced this before or have any ideas what could be causing the issue? I don’t want to have to remove the gearbox, but unfortunately it’s looking like I’ll have to as I must have done something wrong… Thanks!
  8. Why stay away from Fram...? I've used them on my car for 7 years without any issue.
  9. Took a few pics at Tect Park today. Went to watch BOP Motorsport Motorkhana
  10. You've been busy Rosssub! Nice! Took the RA for a quick drive today, still have the factory exhaust fitted. Intake sounds great without the big 3"
  11. Fantastic news! Hope they didn't have the time to stuff anything up! Very lucky man.
  12. evowrx thanks for the info. They're 38mm, so hopefully all good. Trial fitted the twin scroll headers with a single scroll sump - unsuccessful... Need a new sump too!
  13. rex7 Thanks, still contemplating whether or not to run the AVCS engine or forge V3 engine. Forging is definitely easier option. Thanks for info about SSI headers as I know nothing about them. The mounting flanges look identical to the single scroll headers on the car, so they may be SSI too. Pretty tempted to try the twin scroll setup on my RA as that this is already very responsive (AVCS engine). My latest purchase just arrived. Can't wait to fit it! Will be replacing the Scarles one that came on the car. An Apexi front mount intercooler. May required a bit more trimming as its rather thick / large.
  14. Thanks for confirming. Overkill - in what way mate? Surely tuned length flow better than un-tuned? I'll miss the rumble, but car already has tuned length (single scroll). boon I never got a chance to check if they'll fit... Will get onto it this week depending on how the warrant goes.
  15. Thanks, you're right they do look like the ones Redline sell. Redline sell them for $795 and I got these for less (including the VF37). Hope the quality is ok? Didn't get a chance to check them today as I decided to prep for my WOF (first one in this car). Next challenge is sourcing a twin-scroll downpipe. Anyone have or know where to get one? I found a local guy who stocks flanges, so may have to get a custom pipe. From what I've read only a V8 STI downpipe will fit?
  16. Thanks, trial fitted it to a downpipe I had lying about and it didn't fit... So yes, need a new downpipe... Great, I only just bought and fitted a divorced downpipe! I know Redline sell a set of extractors that will fit with single scroll sump, so hopefully I get away without it? Going to jack the car up shortly to have a look. Was going to wash it, but its going to rain...
  17. Just got back from a 6 hour drive. Went to collect a VF37 and tuned length twin-scroll headers. Haven't fitted them yet, but is there anything I need to know prior to fitting to a GC8? I realise I may need a twin-scroll sump, but hoping to get away with factory one due to headers. Not sure what brand the headers are, but they look like good quality and all have this logo:
  18. Fitted a 2.5" Divorced downpipe (replaced 3" Siamese pipe with cat.) along with a 3" HKS Hyper Dragger mid / rear. Not as loud as I was expecting, but sounds very different with the extractors. Still have to heat wrap the down pipe, which I'll most likely do this wkend.
  19. There's a video of this intake pipe collapsing on the web somewhere, so ensure you get a good quality one (Samco comes to mind). I'm having trouble tracking the video down, but will add the link once I find it.
  20. Cheers man, appreciate the link. I've seen a few of those shields on ebay - all have been over $100, so rallysport are well priced! Hate looking on those sites... haha. [quote name='loner said: It's going to prevent the heat from the engine bay from heating the pipes, and it'll prevent the heat from the pipes from heating the engine bay... seems like a reasonable result? Hopefully, thanks for your input.
  21. That honestly crossed my mind while wrapping it... Definitely going to invest in or make a turbo heat shield.
