take your time you will be surprised how cheap you can get a tidy V5 sti with a bit of negogiating. speaking from experience. and just to add GC Sti over BC anyday, bc will never be quick enough unless you spend cash modifying it. GC will be fast enough as it is. if you can try to find an RA then you have the DCCD which is a lot more fun.

if you go onto ebay rally tech do some nice ones. you can even choose the logo you want on them. I bought some blues ones with the pink sti logo on them. they look good and are easy as to install as well. they were $180, made of 3mm polyurethane, mounted with stainless steel brackets. or you could buy them of their website see the link below. they are real easy to deal with. http://www.rally-tech.com/poly_flaps_gc.html

I was just going to get the parts from them and fit myself but do you think it would be a safer option to get them to do the whole thing? do you know what their pricing is like?? hope questions aren\'t too dumb it is my first car so it is all new to me.

ended up with V5 STI RA. Totally bog standard but it know has a Remus rear muffler

the clutch in my V5 STI RA has given up on me. what do you guys recommend?? also does anyone have some 17\' V7 sti wheels up for grabs??? or other wise the rays engineering wheels that came out factory on V6 sti ra?

my bro has one. goes very hard and yes very responsive. Real nice to cruise in with the 6 spd box. nice being a sleeper too. they have all the goodies with the big brembos etc. must add, can\'t quite beat my V5 STI ra.

My V5 STI RA

engine light isn\'t on, plugs are brand new ngk platinums and spaced to 0.65, haven\'t checked coil pack or afm yet. don\'t have much time during the week to check it out so i mite just drop it down to possum bourne motorsport and get them to check it. could it be a fuel pump problem or would that be different?

wondering if anyone can guide me in the right direction as to what may be wrong with my car. it is missing a bit when cruising normally at 60km/h but when you load it up in third at about 4000rpm the boost drops back and it feels like it is being strangled until about 6500rpm and it opens up again. its right where all the torque is and it should start pulling hard. real pain in the arse when coming out of corners mechanically it seems fine there is no smoke, and it idles fine, i have spaced spark plugs to 0.65 and the car is standard so not too sure where to start. anyone got any ideas as to what it may be? cheers.

I set spark plugs and put a 2.5inch up pipe on my 99 STI RA. goes way better, took it for a drive with no centre or rear exhaust, reall loud lots of turbo noise and screams when ya pin it. goes best from 80km/h and then slip it into 2nd and pop the clutch. much fun!!

does anyone know the best spacing for spark plugs going into a standard 1999 STI RA??? cheers.

look likes this forum going good. i gave up looking at the V7 RA, was a little out of my budget! plus my opinion the big eyes are a little ugly although this one did look not too bad. just got myself a 1999 4 door STI RA. luvin it.

it says it on the auction. ithat sounds weird cos RA\'s are only imports. my bro has looked at it n he reckons it is a genuine RA but the guy thinks it is built up over here. my biggest concern is that i thought all RA\'s and type R\'s had DCCD am i right? this one doesn\'t i don\'t think or did subaru make one without DCCD. i think will check out the engine numbers etc.
