Hi All, Its a been a few year since posting here but I've happily been through three more Subaru's since then. I now looking to update the family wagon from our '04 Legacy to a 3.6R premium '10 or '11 Outback but I don't want the leather seats that seems the option ticked by ever original buyer. So if anyone out there is keen to swap for their tidy non-leather seats then sing out. I haven't settled on a car to buy yet but am pretty sure what I want will come with black electric leather seats.

My sister in law has a ~'96 Imprezza 2.0s with the bucket seats that she hates. If someone in Auckland woudl like to come to central Auckland and swap these for standard seats, in good condition then they are all yours. They look like this and are in good condition expect for a 40mm long vertical tear on the drives seat seam that often wears from getting in and out.

It was a while ago but I changed mine fairly easily from memory. Its under the drivers-side rear seat and is sort of built in to the lid. There are few tutorials around for doing this (maybe on here but certainly Google) and, again form memory the filter assembly was $100-$200 from Repco.

Front strut part number is 20310AG150 and other is probably 20310AG160 but didn't check both before install. If you could check and confirm that these are Only in the legacy and not out backs that should put the possibility to rest. Also if you have a list of the spring colour dots used that would be awsome.

So I had the lovely, near new Ennepetal Bilsteins http://www.ennepetal.co.jp/01ss/poline/subaru/suspensionkit/page1.html installed to replace my BP wagons worn struts and springs and handling has improved 100% which is great. Now all I have to contend with is the "nose high" appearance the car has at present. It was very similar to this with the old struts/springs but I had put this partly down sag from the worn out rears. I know that the arches are larger on front of this model (often wish the designers had stolen more of their design from Audi in this regard) but my current gaps between tire and arch are ~40mm rear and ~100mm front Obviously based on these measurements I want to drop the front and hopefully by 50mm. I would like some advice on going about this. Here is what I know about my current set up. - Japanese aftermarket Bilstein struts with part numbers matching those of a Spec-B Rev. A Legacy (possibly tuned for 18" rims) - Springs - could be sedan springs?? - Pictures of the struts and springs from my previous post: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,23056.0.html - My wagon is a NZ new manual and although this may be a stab in the dark could the reduced weight between an auto Spec-B Rev. A Legacy and my car be partly to blame here? - Part number stamped on struts: Rear# are EB5-0704084 Front #are EB5 0704084 The other thing # pressed into the front are 05021 A393 20310AG140 (seems to match Spec-B Rev. A Legacy) Any help really appreciated. I know that a 50mm drop may be a stretch but as I am not fully aware of how the strut/springs setup effect the final height of these cars I though someone with more experience may be able to share a little guidance. Actually a little more digging and here is what I just scored! http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.ennepetal.co.jp/%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3Dqqe%26rlz%3D1R1GGGL_en-GB%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.nz&sl=ja&twu=1&u=http://www.ennepetal.co.jp/09maintenance/04.html&usg=ALkJrhiHMKYnuPtUVs6RxiAJRPzJ7j61fA

Yeah I don't get much with that. Just something about www.ennepetal.co.jp and how they are a Japanese Bilstein agent of some kind who couples either factory springs or their own springs up with Bilistein's. I guess that what will be going in my wagon this Friday then. An enigma wrapped in a mystery.

Just grabbed these off TM. A car importer had them come in on a Japanese imported outback which had been lowered and had done 45,000km. Judging by the shafts these struts have barely done that. The rears have the part code for a 2004 legacy GT or B-sport Bilstein but I still cant figure out how they end up blue instead of Yellow??
-
Yeah apparently these are for legacy's but were in a slightly lowered outback (possible from the struts themselves). I have found a little more info and they seem to be a standard part for the JDM legacy GT tuned for 18's. Might make my 17's look a little funny but that me be the next thing to go anyway. Light blue biltstein's was a new one on me.

Still haven't found any help with this from the dealer or wrecker. Does anyone have access to Bilstein or Subaru dealer part information? Info I have is: They are light blue Bilsteins taken from a import 2005 outback. Rear# are EB5-0704084 Front #are EB5 0704084 The other # pressed into the front are 05021 A393 20310AG140 Any help really appreciated.

Just looking at upgrading the worn out struts and springs in my 04 BP Legacy. Found some Bilstein's out of a 2005 JDM Outback and wondering if these will be the same as using Bilstein's from a B-spec or similar? I know that most of the raised ride height in the Outbacks comes from riser blocks between the chassis and body but are the shocks any different?

New 3.0R Owner has a question -red key symbol flashing on dash?
dumbskate replied to Tobycat1's topic in Legacy & Outback
Yeah its just telling you...or a thief I guess that the Subaru factory fitted immobiliser is turned meaning that no matter how many screwdrivers they stick in the ignition your 3.0R is going no where without the factory key. Don't loose that key. -
I would find it hard to believe that the same model display would not just have a different version of the software loaded for each language market. The problem is in getting the software from somewhere. Have you tried calling Rapid Radio in Auckland? They are very experienced and know what can and can't be done.
