  1. Queenstown Car Club are holding a track day at Teretonga on Saturday 16 may. Day is split in 2. Morning is 1/4 mile sprint. Afternoon is a timed flying lap sprint. Currently I believe it is only open to members but if there is spots then you can become a member on the day. Scruitenering starts at 9am on site.
  2. Yes pretty awesome. No immediate plans yet but we hope between Queenstown and Cromwell clubs we will be able to make it a permanent fixture. We set a physical limit of 50 entries which was a good number. Anymore and it will be a long day.
  3. On Sunday the Queenstown Car Club and Central Otago Motorsports Club were fortunate to have a sprint on Track C. The day was very well received by all people who attended. Here is my 360 degree spin on the top of what they call the Whoop Whoops or wipdedoos. You enter off camber a little then drop 4m, then rise 9m while turning left over a blind crest with no visibility over the crest. It was all over before I knew what was going wrong. But final analysis seems to be I mad just the slightest of steering correction at the top of the crest when the car had unloaded all of its contact and when it settled down it bit and bit hard. Car us a 1993 Impreza Hatch. Original engine was 1.8, but we replaced with 1989 legacy 2.2 N/A. I own it with 3 other guys. We did 2:00:00 lap times. Winner was a Drift Silvia with 450hp with 1:40\'s. We were pretty happy with our times on street types.
  4. I just purchased a V6 STI with 211k\'s on it so it is getting up there. It has KING lowering springs on it so I am getting rid of these and putting traditional springs back on it aftermarket, but the same size as OEM ones. My questions is does anyone out there rebuild or refresh the original red struts. I am based in Queenstown so looking for any advice from Dunedin/Christchurch or Invercargill, or Auckland I can send them away but their weight to Auckland makes it costly. Also if it is possible any idea on costs. I do not really want to go down the track of Adjustables as I need a cert for them and I have no idea what or how much that process costs, and being in Queenstown not sure i can get it certed here anyway. Cheers
