  1. The spec c is so much better than the stock sti, if you can live with no fancy bits. I\'ve got a 2002 spec c which I use daily. They aren\'t much noisier with no sound deadening. Go for it I say
  2. Awsome, my old car, good to see its getting some good bits added to it. Hope its still going well!
  3. I\'ve watched my 4 cars and my 84m2 shed burn to the ground in front of me, I\'m not having any more things burn. It\'s staying in the shed till I figure it out
  4. Hi all, Any one ever had a V7 sti that stinks of fuel when its cold, I cant figure out why, I have checked all the fuel conections and they are all tight/no leaks. Any Ideas?
  5. Ive done the gearbox swap into a v4 type r, simple conversion, only took half a day with 3 people and hoist. Just make sure you have the 6 speed center drive shaft as the five speed one wont fit.
  6. I have checked the bar for side to side movement (using cable ties and hose clamps) and the front bar appares to have no sideways movement, but I get a very loud knock when the weight shifts on the front axel. I have lowered the car since I brought it, as it was higher than stated on the cert plate, which is where my problems may of started. I will order some heavy duty end links for the front and rear and see if that helps. Any one got hookups at White line? As I am picking the heavy duty links aint gona be cheap Cheers Michael
  7. The front bar seems to have a small amout of preload on the end links when its in the air, but the rear has no pre loading on the endlinks. The rear links sit stright up and down, but the fronts are on a slight angle. The car is not excessivly low, maybe 5mm higher than what the v7s sit on just normal lowering springs. There is a whiteline anti lift kit fitted to the front and the Sti pink rear arm kit in the back. Other than that camber/caster should be pritty much stock I will check to see if the end links are "heavy duty" or normal. Thanks for all your help
  8. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone else runs whiteline swaybars on ther V7 or V8 Sti? I am having some real problems with mine and I was wondering if I have had bad luck or is the product just crap. Basicly both front and rear bars keep flogging out end links and now the rear bar has torn the mount off the hub and flogged out yet another end link. The bars are both going as soon as I can source some replacment, I am just curious of why this is happening Cheers Michael
  9. Cleaned the pod filter and started cleaning up the engine bay, gota do the rocker cover gaskets and sway bar end links over the next week, Anyone know what a set of genuine rocker cover gaskets are worth for a ej207?
  10. Hey, my spec c already has a custom tune, what i am wondering is, can the water sprayer be adjusted in the tune? I ask as my old v7 ra used the small water bottle in about a week, but my spec c has used half the big tank in 3 months, so it cant be doing much
  11. Cool, now just to find some cheap HIDs to give it a go with
  12. All of the V7 spec Cs I looked at didnt have HID..... Yea I was worried about the high adjustment, as the rest of it cant be to hard, the ballaist must just take a 12V feed for the low beams, and drop off for the high beams
  13. Interesting as I have Simons old car, hid lights are gone though. Will see what I can find out
  14. Thought there might be extra wiring required..... Time for google
  15. Hi All, Is it possible to swap my normal head lights for HID headlights in a V7 spec c? Cheers
  16. Im over in Feilding now with my new job, but next time you are over at Manfeild let me know
  17. It deff looks like lateral movement, the sway bar has locks on it already, but they are bout 10mm from the mount now. I couldnt move them back so will have to look into some more locks Fixed my exhaust leak at the same time
  18. Thanks for that, car is the best balanced car ive ever driven, so I wont touch that.
  19. Cheers, Reading the build page for this car the swaybars are adjustable, would adjusting them either way take some of the lateral movement out?
  20. I am picking the bar is moving laterally, well thats what it feels like. I will put some cable ties on this weekend and take it for a drive. Thanks for the advice, can you get the locks locally? Yea it is simons old car with KW suspension in it
  21. Hi All, My spec c has been fitted with whiteline swaybars front and rear, my problem is, after I throw it around a corner, when the car starightens up I get a knock from both front and rear bars. Is this normal for whiteline bars? As the front and rear ones on my old civic race car never did this. Or is this from incorrect installation? or just flogged out bushes? Cheers Michael
  22. Finally had a good chase to look over the new car and figure out what needs to be done, so far fixed the loose clutch pedal, put all the firewall bungs back in, changed the steering wheel back to the oringal sparco wheel and lowered the back 25mm so it sits level, next mission is to fix the exhaust leak, clean the air filter and then figure out why the block breather is leaking
  23. I understand what you are saying there, but it is not the steering wheel you left on the car.
  24. Yea thats a good call, just liked the look of it, will have to be a v3 sti wheel then. Cheers for all the help
