  1. Wide body front and rear all fitted. Plenty of filling and sanding.... But almost ready for some colour. First attempt at painting a car. Any tips welcome. Have all the right gear, just never attempted it before!
  2. Been a while. But fitted new from axles. Adjusted a head of front end geometry. Add wider front and rear fenders to stop the tires running!! Slowly now prepping for some new paint. %5BURL=http://s1215.photobucket.com/user/Dmacnz/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_7534.jpg.html%5D%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/Dmacnz/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_7534.jpg%5B/IMG%5D%5B/URL%5D
  3. Cheers. Jons ej22 was still centre thrust! It's the replacement to this motor that is being planned!!
  4. I'm looking at building up a spare motor for the race car. Does anyone one know the rough cost to get a centre thrust bearing converted to a rear thrust? It will be a ej22 based build. cheers Dan
  5. I had the exact same problem. TEIN can be rebuilt.... Where??! Not a easy task, going to take a long time and prob the same price as some entry level replacements. I replaced with some BC (ok at best in my opinion) Very hard ride. I now replaced them with some MCA reds and the difference is night a day. But.... all at a price.. BC hard to beat Value for money though if its not a dedicated track car.
  6. I have a bunch of in car footage of my track Subaru at highlands. Nothing flash. Just go pro stuff
  7. I got a pit of LIC geo corrected hubs. Has it all built in.
  8. Keep ya fuel reg vacuum line connected!! Will start melting **** otherwise
  9. 8U1. Or ultra sonic blue is what I used on my GC8. Awesome colour. Is what a blue should be.
  10. Your over thinking it. Your not going to make much more power between any of the 98 octanes. Get what you can get easierly and locally to where you live.
  11. For a race car white is always a good colour. Easy to add graphics too!! Although I went with a Lexus blue.
  12. Check that The rad fans are working. If that's ok. Possible head gasket.
  13. You may have one injector flowing a bit less than the others. Is why you possible had one cyl knocking. Hence adding fuel stopped the knock and enable him to make more power/add timing. It wasn't running "that" rich that it would of hurt performance more than a few percent. Better rich than lean. Or even possibly in this case maybe just 1 cyl was lean. So the avg lambda had to be richened up to fix the problem. Just a thought.
  14. I broke a 752 box at bugger all power. The 754 is surviving 300kw at the mo even a few launches. But I do try and look after it!
  15. Thanks will look into getting it machines. I a nice set of LIC hubs which accept 114.3 bearings. Pretty much a new age hub with modded up right a to fit the gc8 mounts. Also with a heap of roll and bump steer correction. I have the 5x100 studs on the big bearings at present. But just a matter of buying new hub bearings and will be converted. The rear is it can be machines is a nice idea. I was thinking maybe going down the r180 route but the 160 is going well for now. And don't wanna waste my near new Cusco LSD! 5x100 is a pain in the ass. No idea why Subaru went down that road!!
  16. After some info on how i am best to convert to 5x114.3 on the rear of my GC8. Currently I have a R160 and 2 pot brembos but with a 5x100 stud pattern. Due to wheel restrictions I would like to change to 114.3. Whats the best way to get this done?! The front is all sorted. Just keen to get the rear to a more common stud pattern.
  17. Pitty they cant offer anything on there own products, I would of thought that would be the easier discount to offer....And i want some new seats!
  18. I got a super cheap 8" tablet. Running Windows 10. It was from China. Called a chuwei vi8. Was about $100 Works like a dream. I run it from my link using there Software. Awesome but of kit. I just got a 5v usb hub to charge it and use the sub for the ecu at the same time.
  19. Rotated manifold. Modded throttle body. Got frustrated with buggered O ring on the a injector. "Spare" car is getting a little out of hand!
  20. Any info on this?! Looks impressive!
  21. I went for the 5x100 as have 3 sets of wheels!
  22. I was lucky enough to score Funky's old wagon. This was pretty famous car through the forums and impressive lap times at Manfeild. For those that didn't see this cars build, In a nut shell was a EJ22 with a garrett Gtx3076 making 300kw and weighing around 1260kg, and a excessively large rear wing! The car is now off the road and strictly used on the track. The car has had a few more goodies thrown at it to slowly try and keep up with other cars progressing around it. (those Porsches cup cars are too quick!) To try and get the power around the track suspension has been upgraded to MCA red's and the tyres have been changed from 255 semis to 235 slicks. Also a MAPDCCD was fitted to try and get my head around how DCCD can improve lap time!(Thanks Tony for the help) At the front of the car the front geometry has been corrected using some LIC hubs with a huge amount of roll and bump steer correction, along with the later wheel bearings for longevity. The rear of the car now is fitting with a Racefab chromoly rear subframe and a Cusco 1.5 way LSD. This is where the car currently stands with a bit of work in progress, A new set of monster ported heads and cams are in the works a long with a move to run on E85. Hopefully get to around 350kw. Still only a toy compared to some of the other cars I have seen around. but a bloody enjoyable toy that gets plenty of love!
  23. There is more and more insane dedicated track Suby's throughout the country now. Maybe it is time for a thread where we can gaze over some of these awesome setups hidden around the country. I have seen some of these amazing builds progress through this forum. Would be great to have all these great cars on one thread. If you have a track car post it here so we can all gaze over the excess rubber, custom engines and crazy suspension setups.
  24. I have one in my shed (mates car not mine). They had problems with blowing head gaskets. The motor has now been converted to closed deck, forged rods and Pistons. With a large single turbo mounted at the rear in the centre. Also using a single throttle body.
