  1. The 275kw was after the upgraded valve springs and 22lb of boost yea? If the bottom was built you think it would've crossed 300kw? My build has been complete and has been at the tuner for couple of weeks. The car will be on dyno on Monday. But I am using the same turbo which is in question (hrc35/2) here. Mine is a 2.1 stroker forged and doweled. I am planning to run 28lb of boost to get me over the 300kw range. As Drews car I have upgraded the valve springs too. Here's hoping for 300kw. If not I will change the turbo to the airwerks 7670 as it's a poor man's efr 7670. The only reason I went with holset is due to the rebuild factor and that it should spool up better compared to the airwerks as the holsets turbine housing design is pretty darn good.
  2. Nice work man. Mind sharing which control module and the installation instructions?
  3. So what if you change everything (fuel pump, fpr, injectors, fuel lines to injectors to Ethanol compatible) except the main fuel line from the fuel pump from the back? Because that is the case for my JDM 2004 Legacy GT and my vin number starts with 7AT. The only reason I am considering running gull force 10 is due to my tuner. The tuner had this to say "The Gull force 10 fuel should be Ok for 28 psi, the BP98 isn’t really good enough for much more than 25 psi, we find that the increase in boost on that fuel requires a richer mixture and less ignition timing, and often there is no increase in power with the higher boost pressure". So I am hoping to stick to gull force 10. Any thoughts?
  4. So what springs would you recommended for bit of drop and handling? I currently have the sti pinks on mine. Need to lower it a bit
  5. Subscribed... Keen to fit it to my car as well as I don't just hop in and drive due to forged engine.
  6. A while ago I had asked my car alarm guy to see how it can be done on my car, he said insurances won't like it and won't cover you if you they know that you had a remote start on your car when by factory it didn't. I was going to do it for the same reason as well, i.e. to let the forged pistons expand and let the engine warm up before driving away. Even at work, I just sit around for couple of minutes after starting and mates joke around saying how my car cannot be used as a get away car lol.
  7. Yeap was on sale on fb few days ago. Looks like nice piece of kit. Which car is this going in bro?
  8. My Steve Murch Td05 20g single scroll along with 2013 sti single scroll headers will be up for sale. My car made 249KW at the wheels. You will have to upgrade your fuel pump/injectors and get a down pipe made and get a tune. Have a look at my build thread. There is a dyno chart of it. Once you start upgrading turbos and all it's a slippery slope lol.
  9. Ah yeap, it was for a pre-face lift model. Subscribing to this thread! Because Andy's ECU is all kinds of f..... and he is planning to go the hx35 way as well. And to be honest the factory ecu is only good for so much, link makes the tuning job so much easier and so much more consistent and also allows for fail safes to be in place.
  10. I am kinda also in the same boat. I had a chat with Chris from prestige few months ago and he had done a sedan legacy with link g4 and that was a full ecu replaced. He had 1 cell error which came up on the dash but knows what to do to clear it. So maybe have a chat with him? Cause him and nzefi decoded the canbus system and even got the factory key immobilizer to work with the link.
  11. Those americans and their dynos and their fuel. I used to browse the legacygt and the nasioc forums as well. Few have gotten 300whp but that's a push. I doubt you can get 300whp on a td04. I had the same turbo and I wanted 300whp on my legacy, but after speaking with Steve Murch, it wasn't possible. You can achieve 220kw on a vf36 or a vf37, they are a twin scroll turbo but you will have to fabricate the up pipe (different flange) and possibly the downpipe. And again, the supporting mods, fuel, exhaust etc
  12. Yea will start a build thread soon
  13. Hi @evowrx, can't seem to pm you. I have a 2004 Legacy GT BP5 I have spoken to Steve Murch as well, and he recommended the same turbo. I am building a 2.1 closed deck stroker. Looking at 300+kw. Can you tell me when you hit full boost on your ej20?
  14. The problem with aftermarket headers is the material used is most of them are made from 304 steel, which when heat wrapped, as you will have to, will overheat and develop cracks/leak. A step-up from this would be the 321 steel, which is bit more tolerant.
  15. Hi @boon, is the rotated setup twin scroll?
  16. Hi there, I have a slipping clutch on my 2004 subaru legacy gt. The only mods I have are a dumppipe (subtech) and a FGK exhaust from the dumppipe onwards. This was done few weeks ago. I haven't gotten a tune for it, will do soon. I am pretty sure I had a stock clutch all this time, and the car has done about 152,000kms. I posted on legacygt.com/forums but haven't had any luck with them due to the car being JDM instead of their USDM. What clutch do you guys recommend? I am after something which will last long but also hold the power down for a stage 2? I am looking at getting a cold air intake as well and tune it for the air flow and the full exhaust.
  17. Thank you guys, subirex sorted it out. Car drives mint, no more idle issues. It were the injectors, the fuel injection pulse was dropping. But since the change, car drives like new. Highly recommend subirex, he really does know his stuff.
  18. Thanks a lot guys, I have pmed subirex. I found the ILFR6B NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug on trademe but for like $35 each. Will check with BNT
  19. haha yeap, pretty crazy. Who do you guys suggest to get servicing done in the future?
  20. Can you give me the part no for the spark plugs please? [quote name='GorGasmSpecB said: Sounds wrong.I will start to sound like a broken record but check the VVT solenoids for any blockages. I had Brodie from manukau subaroo do a test on the injectors few years ago and one of them was running rich under 2000rpm and then I had sub lab do the test recently when I got my car serviced and they said they all worn now I will have a look at the solenoids and see if it has any blockages. Also I just called subtech, and they will have a look at the injectors and flush them and see if that works, else they have second hand ones which they can replace with for like half the price sublab quoted. Also thinking of getting their downpipe? good idea?
  21. Hi Guys, New to the forums. I own a 2004 JDM Subaru Legacy GT. Engine#: EJ20YDTBJE. It's great, except for the maintenance costs I need to replace all the fuel injectors as it doesn't idle smoothly. The guys at sublab did a test and basically all of them are worn. They advised to replace all injectors and spark plugs as well. They quoted me 1100+gst for the injectors alone and 375+gst for spark plugs. I have the part no for the fuel injector which is: 16600AAZZ0. What do you guys suggest? I been googling to find out if I can get the injectors myself online. But don't know the details of it. All I know is that they are blue injectors. And from searching on this forum, it seems they are 550cc injectors? Does anyone know where I can source some? or any aftermarket injectors that would fit? I had a look at the injectors here http://www.deatschwerks.com/products/productdetails%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20?virtuemart_product_id=118 They are 740cc injectors but for the EJ25 engine, will these work? Can I just do a direct replacement? or do I have to get it tuned? and whats involved in tuning? Also regarding spark plugs, which do you guys suggest? Car has no mods, stock standard. cheers..
