  1. Hahaha yep I get this every time mine is in the car too! And it boggles the mind really because you won't see yourself clearly, the car bumps and shakes too much if you have coilovers or hard suspension bushes like me.
  2. Can't speak for the redline kit specifically but like you already seem to know - do it once do it right. My exhaust looks terrible and has cost far more than it should have after all the bits of cutting, welding and changing I've had done. Looks like the redline kit could be ok with a decent quiet centre and rear muffler.
  3. And in the case of us 5 speed plebs, mash up 1st gear
  4. Clean looking wagon you got there. A friend of mine has some spare fog light surrounds but they're in white, if you're interested I can ask him if he'll sell 'em.
  5. Been down the path of 2nd hand coilovers before and let's just say.... never again lol, if I decide to bite the bullet and go coilovers I'll buy new. I've adjusted the rear bar to full hard so I'll see how it feels, so far I've only driven it around the city where you barely get to reach 50km/h.
  6. Not sure if you still have the part #s off my struts? They're V7 STI wagon ones. Left (passenger). Right (driver)
  7. Yeah the adjustability of a coilover is attractive (height, damper and camber too) but the obvious issue is price - I'm not sure I'm prepared to drop $2k on suspension + cert. I'll have a look at getting a beefier front bar and maybe adjust the rear a little tighter and see how it feels.
  8. Hey guys, I'm looking into my options for strut + spring combos for my wagon and am looking for suggestions. What it is now: V7 STI wagon struts + stock springs, 21mm front SW, 22mm adjustable rear SW (currently on the 22mm soft setting). Problem: Body roll, not a problem for everyday use but on the track it rolls like a bitch. So I'm looking for a good spring + strut combo that will reduce body roll and not give too much of a ride height drop because of my driveway. What spring rates can I look for that will match my current struts? A combo that I'm looking at is ARAI springs F(5.8kgf/mm) R(4.9kgf/mm) with KYB AGX shocks but I can't find any data on the damping for the AGXs.
  9. Everything Richard and KiwiFozze said are correct, also some things I saw in that auction: -WRX bonnet scoop -WRX door cards -Halogen reflector type headlights =Not an STI Even if it was an STI, I wouldn't call it a bargain at that price + KMs.
  10. Some in-car footage from my 2nd session. Excuse the cocked up gear shift and the odd camera angle (I swear I didn't miss as many apexs as the camera makes out). Awesome day!
  11. Certs are NZs way of making sure that majorly modified cars are still safe for road use, coilovers are considered major here, IE. they have to be certified by an LVV inspector. Check it all out here: http://www.lvvta.org.nz
  12. Do tell once you install them, following for my own interest #threadhijack
  13. Do the AGXs perform similar to the standard STI shocks though? $400 each is more than a set of new BC Golds, not including $400 for a cert of course.
  14. Depending how bad yours are the fix might not last that long, mine lasted about 10000km before they started sticking/knocking again.
  15. That's a shame In a world with Focus RSs and other fast AWD 4cyl Subaru are kinda letting the STI down by keeping the old EJ. In saying that - those Recaros tho.... wonder if they bolt into a V7 and come in blue
  16. Yeah the sounds concern me though, do I hear UEL headers on the STI? Are they putting the new FA engines in the STIs or not?
  17. My motor has 200+km on it - you're not the only nervous one lol
  18. The Tony's on Cambridge Terrace is good, their alignment tech has something like 10 years experience and will align to custom specs.
  19. Yep, this. I got a down pipe from them that came pre-bashed so it would clear the steering shaft, now that's customer service! If you want good fitment/any fitment at all I'm afraid Redline's cheap kits aren't for you.
  20. Anyone able to confirm my payment + trackday registration is in? Cheers!
  21. I'm going through there on 24th. Have sent you a PM
  22. Signed up + paid my track day entry fee today....watch out for this greenhorn on the track
  23. Used all genuine gaskets when my up pipe and turbo came off and didn't use any gasket sealer, going OK so far after 10000km.
