  1. Boost sorted! Got a restrictor pill (Subaru call it an 'orifice' lol) for $6 from Armstrong. 1 day shipping from Auckland. Now hitting 15psi. What a difference! I always thought the car felt slow but being by first Subaru I was unsure. This is the best $6 orifice I've ever had Part no. FYI: 22326KA120
  2. Guys! Are we a-go for this weekend? Where is the meeting place? Somewhere like Spotlight carpark on Kaiwharawhara RD so we can drive up the gorge together, then on to the beach ETC.
  3. At first I went to plumb it into the line between the actuator & boost solenoid, then I realised that wouldn't work! Lol. I ended up tee-ing it off the BOV line.
  4. Installed gauges! Got the pod + gauges off tardme. The pod is in OK condition with a few scratches and a crack next to the boost gauge but overall I'm happy, I'll sort out the fitment gap some day as well. The boost gauge will be changed to match the other two. Finally getting a boost gauge also shows the car only achieving 10psi on a standard motor - closer inspection shows it is missing the restrictor pill!
  5. 25th sounds OK to me! I'm easy on the destination.
  6. I would replace spark plugs before going straight for leads. For my V7 WRX I use BKR6E plugs (some people won't like this/say they're the wrong ones) but they work for me. Do some research and make your own decision on which ones you want to get, just make sure they're gapped to around 0.8mm. If you go for copper plugs like me, you could fix the issue for $24 vs the price of new leads.
  7. Fixed this on the BG9 today. This was my first time playing with axles and CVs. I only re-greased and replaced the boot as I'm planning to sell the car. It only took about 2hrs total.
  8. I have an EJ25 Legacy and EJ205 WRX, and the WRX is a breeze to bleed compared to the Legacy. Air seems to get hung up in the heater core and leads to the typical 'flowing water' sound inside the car. Get or borrow one of these, they make things so much easier! http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-24680-Spill-Free-Funnel/dp/B00A6AS6LY.
  9. Restored some of my sanity and self respect and replaced my atmo venting BOV with a standard one.
  10. Anyone have a diagram for the internal relay block on a V7 WRX? Or may just be able to tell me what they are for? I can't for the life of me find one. Can only find fuse box diagrams. I'm talking about the block on the left in this picture: http://pictures.rennhart.com/2014Q4/110361/110361_299.jpg I'm trying to chase down a clicking/ticking noise at around 2000rmp under load. Cheers!
  11. Agree with the above, just start with simple stuff. Just going to be a process of elimination. What is the service history like? It may pay to whip the front timing covers off and inspect timing parts, especially the tensioner, to rule out things like this:
