  1. I'd recommend the Torin Big Red jack from BNT as well. I think i payed about $300 or just over for it. Found them on trademe aswell http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/tools-repair-kits/jacks/auction-1057444311.htm I've had one of the low profile alloy racing jacks and it died within a year, had it replaced next one died just outside of another year. The Big Red jack is steel, heavy duty, low profile and the best jack i've owned.
  2. Thanks man! Ive got the specs i want it set to, or near to it. Need someone confident in ecentric bushes etc. Dont just want a slap it on the hoist do what closest the computer says and be on your way.
  3. totally agree! Have used them many a times, always happy with what they supply and their shipping is on point too.
  4. Any recommendations for an alignment on the Shore. Ideally around wairau valley etc. I've been to platinum wheels before but won't be able to get there this time.
  5. sorted now :-) got a sub 80xxx km set of struts etc from strong for subaru.
  6. Finding i'm doing more off path driving, and the low stiff setup isn't working. Tried raising it, softening it, still not cutting it. Mountain biking, camping etc. Having to take it painfully slow down gravel roads, avoid all the big holes etc.
  7. Going back to factory struts & springs but my originals went in the bin when i put coilovers in. Stupid me. Ideally im going to buy new struts, source some factory springs but have to supply new top hats etc.
  8. factory, forgot about partsouq will see what pricing they can do. Noltec guy can do the front cheaper than bnt sas etc Cheers.
  9. Where is the best place to buy strut mounts / top hats. After a full set for a BP5 Legacy. Cheers,
  10. just to clarify, you're looking something like the below? One of the clubsub members sells them on trademe. If you have a 2005 chances are you're only single zone climate control. this one should be what you're after, http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/accessories/auction-1016162984.htm Ive done a complete nexus 7 install as well. They gen 2 ones work well!
  11. Have a chat to A1 Exhaust And Towbars in Glenfield.
  12. installed a nexus 7 tablet into the dash of the wagon.
  13. Was greeted with this sight the other weekend when i went to leave the mountain. Removed the blitz induction cover and refitted the factory air box back to the car. Didn't like having to de-snow the filter before driving! Blitz cover is very open
  14. I'm running Fortune Auto coilovers, ride is amazing, very controlled and still forgiving.
  15. Yes sublab = winger I don't see why not? Here's how i got my update done. I rung Subaru NZ to confirm there was an update available (Sublab assured me there wasn't). Subaru NZ then asked which dealer/Sublab i would like to book the update with. They passed the pak file details to the dealer/Sublab along with my contact details. I got a phone call within half an hour from dealer/Sublab asking what time i'd like to book in with etc.
  16. i went to sublab henderson a few weeks ago to have a new pak file flashed onto my ecu. They charged $100 for the flash. Make a world of difference, no more flat spot or hesitation. (common issue with the 2.0R, cured by a pak file update)
  17. i had one put in not too long ago. Amazing job, goes the extra mile for everything. Highly recommended.
  18. Dealt with them a couple of times. Nothing but great service. Quick shipping and sharp prices.
  19. updated the above with the rest of the info
  20. Took the car to the mountain in the weekend. Had no worries getting up Whakapapa late friday night. Little bit of snow and ice didn't stop her.
  21. I have been through this and now have 2 x JDM keys complete with working central locking buttons. Re transponder - locksmiths can copy/duplicate transponder chips - Try Exact Remote & Key Service, http://www.instantkey.co.nz/albany-northshore-locksmith.html 1. Purchase same key as you have from local wrecker that has central locking. I used Strong for Subaru, key cost $40 incld gst and shipping. 2. Purchase triangle blank jdm key or folding key from ebay. JDM triangle key blank, don't worry that is has 3 button holes. Swap the casing off the wreckers key onto it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-Remote-Key-Shell-to-Suit-Outback-Impreza-Tribeca-Legacy-Forester-/400418906892?hash=item5d3ad3a30c Folding key blank http://www.ebay.com/itm/Folding-Remote-Key-Case-Fob-Shell-for-Subaru-Legacy-Outback-2-Button-Uncut-Blade-/231586946736?hash=item35eba85eb0&vxp=mtr 3. Transfer central locking bits from wreckers key to ebay blank key you now have a blank JDM key with central locking 4. Get key cut at locksmith - key can be cut to code so will be exactly as it was when brand new. I used Exact Remote & Key Service, http://www.instantkey.co.nz/albany-northshore-locksmith.html 5. Sync up new central locking with car Here's the relevant pages from the FSM, Page 1 Page 2 Should have a working key with central locking after this.
  22. My 2005 BP5 pre facelift has H3 fog lights. I'm running a H3 HID setup now at 3000K. really really yellow. Re park lights, if you want them to match your headlights i found these t10 leds to be good. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H07V3YS/ref=pe_385040_127745480_TE_item I did new main HID lamps as well, fitted Kensun D2 5000K.

  24. Hey Guys, After a mechanic / workshop on the shore to service my wagon. It's previously been at Subtech for the last year or so, looking for someone closer to home if possible. Anyone had any experience with any mechanics on the shore? I've found the following places say they are subaru mechanics : Petermark Automotive Northern Car Services
