  1. So did you end up rewiring? what connector (or wire) did you find to be the issue and what's your voltage drop now?
  2. Hey all, who here has installed the eBay tt silicone turbo inlet? I'm looking to install mine fairly soon and would like to get as much info as possible before I start, I have read Rosssubs guide on how to do it but I'm just looking for more input. Will I need to remove primary turbo (easiest way to), drain all of the coolant, other useful tips and tricks I should know before, things like that, thanks.
  3. Don't make me make you! Lol I found most anyways
  4. So uhh. The links to each thread? Nice write btw
  5. Yes. As with all autos and manual versions the ecus will be different. Are you doing a swap?
  6. Gaps are not dirty at all... small gap towards the grille but people exaggerate the problems with fitting them.. The gap is filled in by the weather stripping so it's not even noticeable
  7. Actually you can just swap the headlights, just requires 2cm square of trimming by the indicator light. Very simple swap.
  8. If they only click when turning and there is no noise while driving straight it's the cv joint (one or both). Being that a boot was ripped it means that grease has escaped and dirt has entered, which will almost certainly lead to damage. usually wheel bearings will make noise at all times and not just when turning
  9. For me my primary is about 13psi and secondary about 16-17. That's with the hose 10 mod. Mine doesn't limit at all if it's not at operating temp but I very often stay away from boost when it's still cold.
  10. Actually keys are not chipped, I had read they were as well. had a basic metal copy made yesterday with no issues. this makes adding a remote start a lot simpler. But also partsouq.com is a great site. Shipping is only about 2 days and you can get almost anything you are looking for. Including the smallest bolts. All for much cheaper than at a dealer Would charge. I'm in Canada as well
  11. Hey I will be installing my remote start pretty soon. Do you know if these cars have chipped keys? I have heard from different sources yes and no. If not it wounds name my install a lot easier. Also what did you use for a tach signal so the so the system knows when to kill the starter?
  12. Ok I'll check them out, but i dont think ill be doing the coolant bypass for obvious reasons lol. I replaced the intercooler hoses and my shifter bushings as well as knuckle. Noticed intake noise is quite a lot louder, especially with he resonator in the fender removed. The bushings were a pain to do even with a hoist. I was wondering whether cleaning the differential pressure sensor by the intercooler would do any good, what's your opinion?
  13. Ok, I'm already looking into that, preferably ebc. Also with regards to the turbo inlet, what other things do you recommend replacing while everything else is apart?
  14. Don't have one handy, do you know where I could get one? I will be doing intercooler hose later this week and turbo inlet + decatting in a few weeks.
  15. So I cleaned the BCS today and it seemed to help with the little lag. It no longer hangs at 0 for 1-1.5 seconds and only just slightly pauses on it for less than 0.5 seconds or so. Boost is much quicker to build back up after a shift as well. Hey ross, I noticed you put a 1mm restrictor pill into hose 2 in the BBOD, would I gain anything from this if I tried it out?
  16. Though its not at VOD yet when I shift, still at peak primary boost. 4k is only an example, if I shifted anywhere below, even at 3k there would be the same effect. Boost is at 0 at roughly 2800-3000 after the shift and only when im at full throttle after the shift. If I go about 1/2 throttle for a bit then full, boost will rise back up gradually and not get hung at 0. When pinning it there is zero lag at 0 between shifts. My VOD starts at around 4300 and boost only drops to about 6psi. Here's a video
  17. Yes they are both working in test mode. Sorry I completely forgot to post the video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4KcCrGKOBo
  18. So I cleaned all the solenoids in the BBOD, they were all clean except for the ECV solenoid, a whole bunch of dirt popped out of that one. They were all clicking as well while cleaning. After the cleaning I went for a little drive, CEL 45 came on and there was no boost. The CEL soon went away but still no boost. decided to disconnect the battery for about half an hour and there still wasn't boost. Now there was a whooshing sound coming from the BBOD, thought it was just a loose hose but everything was connected fine. Pulled each out one at a time while checking with a stethoscope to see which was the problem one. Turned out to be that I had not cleaned the filter of the Negative ECV solenoid well. That solved the boost issue. Went for a drive and I still had the minor lag after the shift at full throttle. I made a video to show this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4KcCrGKOBo First gear to 3rd. Shifts are at 4k rpm falling to roughly 3k in the next gear. Throttle is applied when boost rises to 0psi. Also notice the change in exhaust note until it starts boosting again. The only solenoid I didn't clean today was the Boost control. Could this be my issue? I will be cleaning it tomorrow.
  19. IACV holds vacuum. Tomorrow I will be cleaning the solenoids. hopefully this solves my issue.
  20. Could it be a clogged IACV? I put my finger over the hose 1 nipple at the BBOD while in test mode and couldn't feel any air flow or vacuum. there is also what looks like some oil residue on the IACV. I haven't seen a CEL come on at all.
  21. So being that my ECV is working properly its unlikely that hose 12 or the check valve are the problem here correct? Also what does the secondary relief do exactly? And the Positive and negative ECV pressure solenoids? Would love to know each solenoid's function. Also does it matter the pressure I spray the carb cleaner at?
  22. Thanks for the link. So when cleaning the solenoids the car should be on (not running)? I'm looking to do this tomorrow as well as test the IACV. The one way valve (hose 12?)only allows air to flow from the bbod to the mani correct? And is hose 12s only function to feed air away from vacuum tank? From which way should I clean the solenoids? or does it not matter? And at idle do all the hoses that go to the bbod feed air away from it or are there any that go the opposite? Thanks for all the help.
  23. So i checked the BOV, all good. Put it in test mode and it looks like the IACV is not moving at all, ECV sounds like it is though. I removed the restrictor pill to see if this was causing it and even without it it still doesn't move. With the pill removed it still drives the same and it still boosts properly to ~16psi in secondary. what do you think could be the issue?
  24. Wasn't able to do this today but I will find out how everything is tomorrow.
  25. Here is the BOV hose http://postimg.org/image/d0z3vo41f/ And the capped hose from inlet/hose 10 http://postimg.org/image/8p391rk6r/ http://postimg.org/image/x7uwllzg1/ I really think its something to do with either as well, just not sure what
